I was on my way home with my family. I have 4 people in my Journey and we were coming down the hill and came to a stop. All lights on the dash came on and the Journey would not start. Then I was at a 4 way stop and I got out to try to stop someone who could help me. I try to get my key out and this man that stopped. He was from Canadian Tire and worked with all kinds of vehicles. He said my Journey 2010 alternator was so hot it was going to start a fire??? He said get everyone out of the Journey and call a tow truck.

Took my Journey 2010 to City Chrysler. I called a cab and went home. I was very upset. I went there the next day and told them what happened. They fixed my Journey and he said that he never seen it so bad. It could have started a fire it was that hot.

HOW IN GOD'S NAME IS THIS RIGHT? THERE ARE MANY JOURNEYS THAT STOP FOR NO REASON. Now my Journey is whistling and they do not say what it is. Please do something, this is unthinkable someone is going to die. My door will not open with my controller my dvd will not work. What going on? Please God help me now.

This would be the third alternator I have had replaced in this car since I purchased it used in 2013. While driving from Pennsylvania to North Carolina my car rpm's started spiking while I was not depressing the gas pedal, my alarm lights started to blink and flash, all of my accessories stopped working no light no windows, radio, ac, fan, I pulled off the highway when I got to a safe spot and my car would not restart. I had to have it towed 85 miles to do the dealer to have the alternator replaced. It was very unsafe
