Horn honks randomly, all hours of the day and night. Mechanic has tried multiple fixes but no luck. Doesnt matter what's fixed or replaced it keeps doing it. Dealer says they have no idea whats with the horn blowing randomly, so I've resorted to removing the 2 fuses that power the horn. But issue now is I have no horn to alert other drivers of my driving intentions or to warn them of their driving intentions for example their backing out and I'm in their blind area, merging traffic to signal your letting them in etc. Its dangerous to not have a working horn (pretty sure car can't be safetied without working horn) yet the dealer doesn't have an incling what causes this problem. This car needs multiple recalls to fix multiple problems. I've always been a huge Disge fan, but after this car I feel I would not invest in Dodge again, unfortunately they should listen to the customers before they loose all loyal brand customers.

This is the second time this has happened. The first time was in the fall of 2019 - the horn just would go off. Took out the fuses to stop the problem. Finally had it fixed in the fall of 2020. The horn just started to do it again in the middle of the night and again this afternoon. I took out the fuses again so I have no horn again. Not thrilled with the fact that no one seems to know what is causing the problem.

I have read a lot of complaints about this issue. Will not purchase another Dodge product - there have been plenty of other issues that I can't even list. It's a good thing I have friends that are mechanics - they all say the same thing - the Dodge Journey is one vehicle they see a lot.

My wife has a 2010 Dodge Journey that has developed a rather annoying problem as of late. The car horn will randomly start honking, anytime of day or night. Sometimes it will just chirp a little, few seconds maybe. Other times it's an all out lay on your horn type of experience. It seems to have a mind of it's own. At first when it would happen it would do it's thing and then not happen again for some time, weeks even months sometimes. Lately though it is happening several times each day( we're becoming a big hit in our new neighborhood!). After reading other post on various sites I decided to pull the two 10 amp fuses designated for the horn, Was reluctant due to safety, but was willing to risk to keep our sanity. Apparently Dodge does have a serious problem on their hands with this TPIM thing. Hope they will find it in themselves to address it.

Horn goes off randomly while parked and while driving.

First started after I took it through a car wash in February. At that time, I played with the buttons on the FOB it seemed to have stopped. Problem solved I thought, thought wrong.

Now it is April and my Journey started honking again during a rain storm last night. My elderly neighbour called me and woke my up around midnight, she was worried something was wrong with me because my car kept honking. Sure enough it was honking alright. As I looked out the window, I noticed that before it started to honk there was a flicker in the right side tail light. Before I unlocked the door, I could see the Dodge Ram dash light was on. I took it for a drive it was honking as I was driving, as it did in February, so I had to take it outside the city played with the FOB again brought it home it honked once and quit. I thought it was okay until I woke up to it honking at 5 am this morning I had to go out in the pouring rain as the honking continued (from the right side horn) to make it stop I had no choice but to pull the fuses M22 and M23.

I have owned several vehicles none of them ever had a problem like this.

Update from May 2, 2019: Battery is being drained. Clicking under the hood in the fuse panel pulled M13 fuse stopped the clicking and battery drain. Put the horn fuses back in.

Now I can't start or drive the car because horn is constantly going off. Will pull horn fuses again.

While on the way to work about a week ago, I hear someone just blowing their horn and I'm like, "who is that?". Looking around not realizing it was my car. So I pull over, push the horn a couple of times, turn car off and it stops. Thinking it was just maybe stuck for a second, I continued to work and paid it no mind. Until last night, or more like this morning at 4am, when my horn start going on and on for like 3-4 minutes, then stop and then start again waking up the neighborhood. Thank God it finally stopped because I wasn't able to figure out which two fuses to pull to disconnect the horn until the morning.

This is a major safety hazard and there should be a recall. I can't drive without a horn but with the crazy world that we live in I can't have it going off in traffic and people think i'm blowing it at them. If Dodge doesn't step up and fix this problem, I will never buy another and make sure others know about this problem.

I got my vehicle in 2015, used with about 18k miles on it. About a year and a half afterwards, I would notice the alarm going off randomly at night every once in a blue moon. I was just thinking it was a cat or something jumping on the hood from the trees (fairly common in our neighborhood). When I would hit the button on the fob, it wouldn't cut off right away. I just thought the fob was defective.

June 2018, I get an email that my alarm is going off when I'm at the office. I go out to inspect, it's not the alarm. The horn is blaring like someone is in the car laying on it repeatedly. The alarm button on the fob just made it worse. I unlock the door and put the key in the ignition and the horn stops. I inspect the inside and outside, doesn't look to be any damage at all. Lock the door and go back to my desk, I get another email not even a full minute later. The horn is at it again and it wasn't stopping this time. Went on for about 2-3hrs off and on. Got so bad the police came thinking someone was in distress, the officer ended up popping the fuses for me so the horn would stop, but the battery was fully drained.

Had it towed to the dealer, they said the reason the horn was blaring like that was because the rear brake lamp went out and it needed replaced. $200 later, the problem is not fixed. It even effects the hazard lights from time to time. Still can't put the horn fuses back in, but the battery doesn't drain with them out. Very irritating. Definitely ready to trade this sucker in.

3:00 AM and me and my wife jump out of the bed to nonstop horn outside of the house. It's our own car, a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT. It's been beeping the horn randomly for more then a year now, but never this bad. I go outside and the horn is going off in 2-5 seconds intervals and the windows are all going crazy like the car is possessed or something. I call Dodge the next day and they act like I'm the only person dealing with this problem. I come on Google and find out that it's a common problem for Dodge from the 2007-2014 models with TIPM. So this issue needs to be recalled and fixed.

I had the car in the mechanics for another problem. They had informed me the car was ready to be picked up and I was about to leave when I received another phone call that the horn was going off. I could hear it through the phone. They tried to fix it but in the end just disconnected it.

They looked it and found it was a common problem with 2010 model but the dealership claimed they had never hear of it. It seems the problem from the mechanics research is in the steering wheel with the circuit board but fixing it won't be cheap. The mechanic also said the problem is the design of the circuit board is why it is happening. To replace it, it isn't cheap so the mechanic offered to bypass it and put a button nearby to sound the horn if required.

I think it sucks that dealerships deny the problems exists when it is a common problem and must be hearing about them. Instead they be trying to repair them so people will like their cars for the service.

Update from Jan 26, 2019: To date the Horn still isn't working. Tried talking to the dealership but they say I have never made an enquiry. I have been with my mechanic when he has contacted them as well they still deny. Time to chase the company up

While driving down the highway, the Horn started blowing randomly! It even blows as an Alarm when the car is not on! The car is kept in a detached garage, and the battery will die from the horn continuously blowing all night! Unfortunately, we did not hear it because the garage is a distance away from the house.

We went to our trusted Car Repair Shop (Tires Plus) and they would not touch it, saying it had to be taken to the Dealer. I had them take the Horn Fuse out to stop the problem, but, now I do not have a horn, and not sure if the Air Bag is affected.

I have read many other complaints from people with the same problem on the Dodge Journey! The Dealer said it will cost $105 for Diagnostic Testing and another $500 for repairs if it is the Horn Assembly Module. It will be more if the car also needs a Computer Update! This is not right!! There is a definite problem, and it should be addressed by the Manufacturer!

The horn on my vehicle just started to go off out of nowhere. I read about a lot of complaints on this vehicle, yet no recall. I called my local Chrysler dealership and set up a future appointment to get it diagnosed, which will cost me $105 to get it just diagnosed. They did give me the phone number to file a complaint with Chrysler so that it could potential be issued for a recall. EVERYONE THAT HAS THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO CALL 1 800 992 1997 and file a complaint. I spoke to a women named Elizabeth who was wonderful and said that there hasn't been any complaints filed. I find that hard to believe but it makes sense because I had a difficult time trying to find a number to contact them to file my complaint. Please everyone call the number above and have your vin number and mileage on your vehicle when making the complaint. The more we get, hopefully they will recall it. Also if you removed the fuses in your car so your horn won't go off, it might be illegal in some states to not have a working horn, just something to keep in mind. Thank you.
