This has happened numerous times and is completely intermittent, but I will be driving down the road (like you do in a car) and the climate control seems to have a mind of its own. If it's off, it will randomly turn on, full blast to whatever the last settings were. If it's on, it will randomly shut off. I've also experience where the rear air is set to max fan, max cool, and it automatically changes to fan at level 4 and neither hot nor cold air. Again, it's completely random when it happens, but it's a real p.i.t.a.

We bought the 2012 in Spring 2015 and never had the air or heat worked properly. Some days it pops right on, most days it's a struggle. If it is below 70 degrees the a/c works like a champ and ice cold air. 80 degrees it blows hot air and it turns itself on and off whenever it feels like it. You can turn it off all day and it turns right back on, when you want it on, it won't work!!!

After research, took the car in for an update on the radio and no fix, called dealer, no one cared. Took apart the whole dash, worked for a day and nothing else. We also have issues with about every single thing in this car.... Brakes grinding, before and after putting on new brakes and rotors, removed them and triple checked everything and the noises and screaming never stop. I actually really loved dodge, we got the journey to replace a Durango, and absolutely NOTHING but problems! Since 7 days after we pulled in the driveway with it...

Contacted Chrysler, dodge dealers, research, nobody seems to know how to solve the ac issue, and the abs lights literally been on since 7-10 after purchase and no matter what's done, it won't go away so cruise control won't work either!!! Took it in for the abs recall hoping that was the cause and the light was still blasting when driving out of the dealership.... I have to drive 5 children around in this piece of crap, that's already a several hundred dollar a month deficit before all the zillion issues.

I feel extremely unsafe and this should have been included in the vehicle buy back! This car is 4 years old and feels like I'm safer walking! These issues were reported to Chrysler last year and obviously since no help is coming, yet I'm reading HUNDREDS of complaints regarding these issues, I'm highly offended as a customer who has strictly loved dodge! You will never sell anyone I know another dodge either when these issues are bankrupting us. Too bad since several of my family are constantly buying new cars on a yearly basis!

I traded in my Nissan for this beautiful, suv, to find out with all the small issues I should have just kept my car as it was paid for! I have been having this issue since i purchased this vehicle, the mechanic looked at it said there was no "recall" so not much they could do!! Seriously, okay its 95 degrees outside I have my newborn grandbaby, her big 2 year old sister, and my youngest daughter (16) in the car, I turn on the AC and i am like oh that feels wonderful, then suddenly my daughter starts complaining, its hot its really hot, turn it off....well after trying every sort of set up with the temperature, and vents NOTHING WORKED.! I am disgusted with Dodge for this, as I am normally a " Dodge" girl, well seems i was duped! This still has not received any type of recall or optional offer to fix for free to ppl like me! The air still does this and i still hear the same crap from the dealership, no recall nothing we can do! I have another 1 year to pay for this vehicle, but next time I will not be re-purchasing a dodge, as i have seen many many complaints all over about this now that i have been looking, and yet Dodge just says nothing....WoW what a Company!

Journey SE 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

passenger side only blows hot air even on cold setting

Bought this car BRAND NEW IN late 2011 and have had many problems with it, the passenger seat plastic side panel broke, the keyless enter button on tailgate does not work anymore with either key and new batteries, sound issue that was finally fixed with software update after it would turn volume up to max when starting car. The Seats have flattened substantially, and now the problem with the ac and heater happened today. The passenger side will only blow hot air no matter what setting the heat is on I had the temperature synced and the driver side works fine but the passenger side will only blow hot air even if ac is on. I am really starting to regret buying this car.

Makes no sense I only get cool air on the driver side vent. The rest of the vents blows out heat? Wouldn't the dealership know about this problem before selling this car to me? I'm still paying monthly for this car.
