The car cut out traveling down the highway with engine light fault and lose of power, brakes and steering. This is a common problem with the crankshaft position sensor (code P0335) and needs Dodge to recall on this and fix this lethal fault of complete lose of control at speed. Yesterday was the 3rd time this has happened and I had my family in the car this time...updated 10/23/17 updated 10/25/17 updated 10/30/2017 updated 11/2/2017

My vehicle has been constantly stalling out while in motion and it is unsafe to drive. My vehicle also picks up speed randomly without excelling the gas pedal. I have a family of five and due to this issue we are having to borrow other vehicles. Its sad that Dodge has not done anything about this issue as I see 100's of people have been making the same online reports. I have one year left on this vehicle and was so happy until this issue arose. I do not want to start over with a vehicle & due to so many complaints I feel like Dodge should at least waive down payment deposits to get these vehicles off the road before a huge lawsuit is done against them.

The car stalled on me a total of 3 times when coming to a stop at busy intersections with cars coming up behind me fast. I took it in a total of two times, to no avail. They stated they could find nothing wrong. The second time I took it in was after a week of very sketchy engine trouble (where it almost stalled numerous times) and the last 2 times it had stalled on me. When I got it back it drove much better, but yet they stated they didn't find anything. I have researched and this is not an isolated incident. I have a cousin who has a Chrysler T&C, same year and the same thing happened and again they could find nothing (they are the same engine.) I have put a complaint into Dodge. I have my paperwork form service at Dodge, just unable to upload right now.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the ABS and the traction control warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (ville platte Dodge, 1320 w main St, ville platte, la 70586, (337) 363-6627) where it was indicated that they serviced the vehicle under a manufacturer recall regarding the brakes and within a week the contact noticed an abnormal noise and the brakes had failed to function properly when applied. The vehicle as taken to the dealer more than twice and they had been unable to replicate and diagnose the vehicle after several test drives. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 15V675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic), and 15V431000 (engine and engine cooling) but was uncertain if the dealer remedied the recall repairs. I'm experiencing an odor that is coming through my vents, it smells like antifreeze but then the odor changed and it smelled like anesthesia and had an effect like it as well. I was driving on my way home from work and had the air-conditioner running (summer 2016) my eyes started to get blurry and the smell was taking over me, I said to myself I think I'm about to pass out ( it was a feeling like I was going under to prepare for surgery) I quickly let the windows down to air out the car. And then I was fine. I did not run the air the rest of the summer. Now that it is winter I was running my defrost and the same smell was there so I quickly defrost and aired out the car. Also with it being cold and turning on the heat I still get that anti-freeze smell. Sometimes when I am not running anything through the vents a whiff of the smell comes through. I had my car serviced and looked at but they could not find anything wrong and could not detect the foul smell. Each time I and these encounters I was driving both in the city and on the highway. This started in the summer of 2016 and it is still happening as of 3/17/17

My vehicle started knocking after my second oil change. I asked the dealership to look at it and they told me everything was fine. I asked them more than once over the next few years when I got regular oil changes. They said everything was fine. Then in 2016 my vehicle started with a knocking and random misfires. I took it to the dealership and was told that my cams were blown, my pistons were not working and my lifters were bad. My car is four years old. All of these problems culminate in no power to my engine and a possible seizure of my engine. I am requesting this be looked into.

Crankshaft sensor and 2 camshaft sensors had to be replaced. Going uphill on a bridge that I travel 2X a day for 365/year, it decided to cut off while going up the bridge, I went from 52 mph to 0 mph and coasted to the foot of the bridge, it would sputter when trying to turn on and then after 20 - 30 mins, it turned on as if nothing happened and I drove home. The next day tried to drive over the bridge and it did the same thing going up hill. It just stopped. Mechanic says I had 2 bad camshaft sensors and 1 bad crankshaft sensor. The car still hiccups and shutters and acts like it is going to cut off again as I go uphill with the air conditioner on. I really believe in my heart the air conditioning is draining the power and somehow causing adverse affects elsewhere, I just dont know how I can prove the correlation. I don't feel like replacing those sensors is the end all to the story. I just don't know what else to do.

The technician stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.
