problem #1

Journey ES 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,574 miles

ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT... A SHORT IN IGNITION COILS CAUSED MELTING AROUND THE PLASTIC AROUND SHORT... CYLINDER MELTED TO VALVE COVER, WOULDN'T COME OUT... HAD TO REPLACE CYLS 3 AND 4 IGNITION COILS... REPLACE SPARK PLUGS, REPLACE PCM, AND REPROGRAMMED.

FOR THAT LIMITED AMOUNT OF MILEAGE (49,574) FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN LIKE THIS SEEMS STRANGE, THEY SAID SHOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, I SAID WHAT IF IT DOES??

I THINK THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A POTENTIAL FOR A CAR FIRE, WHY DIDN'T THEY HAVE MORE SAFETY FUSES TO PROTECT THE PCM ( THE CAR COMPUTER)

dealership did what they could, gave me a discount but still had to pay $1,220 for this fiasco... i was without my main means of travel for almost 6 days...

WHAT CAUSED THE SHORT ( NO ANSWER) maybe bad part to begin with.

WILL DODGE COVER IT NEXT TIME IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN (MAYBE... NO ANSWER) who knows.
