Journey SXT 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 121,000 miles

The day I had this towed I was told by towing service it was the 3RD Journey THAT SAME DAY with transmission problems. Sounds like a much worse epidemic common with these 3.6L engines than GM/Chrysler lets on. Many, many videos online from people who work on these engines that say this is a constant problem. Alex the CarDoc and CarWizard both come to mind. I'm wondering if at this point there should be a class-action lawsuit.

Journey Crew 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,576 miles

The while driving at any speed for no reason and without a warning, the transmission gets stuck in one gear, unknown which one. There's nothing i can do to fix the problem, putting in neutral and back into drive does not help. The only solution I found is, I have to turn off the vehicle and start up again and it fixes the problem. I don't know if it's the transmission or the computer, but either way is dangerous and a royal pain in the ass. I have also experience erratic shifting but not as often, I also forgot to mention an annoying tapping sound coming from the engine. Other than that is a nice vehicle. Is anyone having the same problems?

Journey Limited 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

We purchased this car new and since we purchased it have been extremely unhappy! We took it on a trip to Georgia to visit my parents and while we were there we got stranded because the transmission totally went out of my car. Heard a noise and then it wouldn't go at all! Had to have it towed to the dealership and took 2 weeks to get it replaced and then had to drive back from Texas to Georgia 13 hours to pick up the car! This was a big cost we were not expecting! To buy a new car and pay so much to be stranded in another state is awful! I'm glad its under warranty for that but sad that it had to have a completely new transmission and all the electrical caught fire also. Please beware if you have a 2013 Dodge Journey get the transmission checked!

Journey Crew 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 621 miles

Transmission won't shift under extreme cold -15c/+3f only on a cold start-up. I can manually shift with no problem. Once the vehicle is within operating temperatures (10-15 min.), it shifts fine on its own. Will be taking it back to the dealer under warranty.

Thx.

I really need to know what I need to do. Car didn't give a warning on dash board or anything that something was wrong. My car just will not move.
