This very concerning to me. This Dodge Journey is my wife's vehicle and she drives my 2 little kids everywhere in this car. I bought the car this year for all the safety features. Today (I was driving alone), I was slowing down and turning right into my driveway and the vehicle shut down! I had no RPMs & no steering ability. The engine just stalled for no reason. Lucky for me, I was moving ~10 mph in my own driveway and not out in public traffic! This is a very low mileage vehicle and has push-button ignition, so the problem has nothing to do with keys moving the ignition to auxiliary or off mode. My concern is that this will happen to my wife and kids at higher speeds in a dangerous location! If anyone has experienced a similar issue or knows of a fix, please let me know! If I had to guess at a potential cause, I will say that the V6 with 6-speed transmission has some very strange transmission "curves" programmed. It shifts at odd times (and early) in my opinion and perhaps slowing down, it didn't shift into a low enough gear quickly enough, causing it to stall (perhaps in 3rd gear when going ~8-10 mph).

I was driving my car about 50mph when I came out of a left curve and started on a straight away, just them I lost all power instantly, no brakes, no steering, the car was in motion, running right beside a deep riven and river, I was scared to death, If I hit the emergency break I would go off the road and crash into the Illinois river, possibly dying!!!! I was terrified, dumbfounded as to why this would happen! The car coasted to a stop, I then placed vehicle in park and restarted, drove the rest of the way to town scared to death!
I only cringe to think what would have happened if my kids and husband had been in the car with me and we had been in a high traffic area when this happen, God only knows what could have happened! Now I am in fear of this happening again!
