Journey SXT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Me and my other half both purchased 2017 Journey's. We have both noticed that when we turn the A/C on, it takes a very long time for it to start cooling the interior. There have been times where both of us have started our Journey's and had them running over 15 minutes to help cool the interior before we actually left the house. But once we both got into our cars, it was still fairly warm and the air was blowing just a little cool.

We had both our Journey's looked at by the dealer and both of our A/C systems checked out fine. We were told that's just how they are. It takes approximately15 minutes of driving down the road before we even begin to feel the A/C get cold. Fed up with it and summer is only just beginning.

I visited North Carolina from PA and while it was hot there for April the first issue I had was after starting the car to let it cool and put a child in, there was a loud noise and what looked like steam coming from under the passenger front of the vehicle.

Took it to a dealer there that could find nothing wrong. In July I was back in North Carolina and it took an HOUR to cool the car off and has been like this since.

Took it to the dealer I bought it from who said it was blowing at the proper temp and there was nothing wrong. I will be taking it again next week since it is now taking even longer to cool the car down

Journey CrossRoad 4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44 miles

The AC is linked to the UConnect and will not start running until the UConnect has fully loaded. Then takes forever to cool down. The dealership said that this is working as designed and there is no way to separate the two items. What a major design flaw! Either my husband or myself has to start the car and let the system load and the AC cool down before the kids can get in the car. Adds 15 minutes on to every stop!
