Magnum SXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11 miles

Always have to apply brake when i let off the gas when i'm behind a car or going down a hill. Going down a hill, the transmission doesn't hold the car back to slow it down, like a car with a standard trany. I was told when you let off the gas the computer thinks you are in a cousting mode. I have tested this by letting off the gas and checking the R.P.M.s, which doesn't more below about 1500. When I put the trany in N R.P.M. drop to about 800. This test tell me that N is the real cousting mode. This test on the cousting mode was done on a level road. I This cousting mode thing was told to me by the service manager at Artiolo Dodge in Enfield , Enfield Street, Ct. PS. All Dodge Magnum seem to have this problems. This problem make the driver use the brakes more so they ware out.
