I purchased this vehicle in November of 2019. In January 2020 the car began to have an issue with starting. I would put the key fob in (I do not have a regular key) and when you put in the fob, you're not supposed to turn and hold for the car to start, you just click it to the right one time and then it starts by itself. Well, it began to not start. You could hear it trying to start but I had to attempt multiple times, say turn the key 20-30 times before it would start.

There would be days where it would start up on the first try for several days to weeks just fine, and then the issue would occur again, and then my magnum would be parked for days to a week. Pretty much the next time I thought, hey, I wonder if my car will work today?

I then had this issue for about 1 month and then took the vehicle to a mechanic who then informed me that there is actually a recall on the ignition switch. I then called the Dodge, Chrysler, Kia dealership and made an appointment to have it fixed. I went to the first appointment on January 13, 2019. When I got to the dealership they didn't have the recall parts in! I then made another appointment to have the recall fixed. Went back to the dealership to have the recall fixed. I then waited for about 1 hour and 45 min - only for them to tell me that they still didn't have my part in and that they had better check again because I called prior to driving 40 miles to the dealership. I called and talked to someone in parts and they said you all had my parts! He then came back and said I am sorry we switched technicians - we do have the recall part.

Another hour later he came back to tell me that they replaced the ignition switch which was on the recall and it still would not start. Mind you when I drove it in there it was starting fine that day. He then asked me to come with him to further discuss this issue. We went into the shop part where they had my car and he then asked me to start my vehicle. Why don't you give it a try and see if it will work for you. I told that man I’m not touching my car. He then asked me to sign some papers and I refused!!!

He then told me that the problem with my car was not the ignition switch but the entire computer and that they could have that part in the earliest in late February 2020 and that it would then cost me $580.00! I asked him how am I supposed to get home now - my car was running fine when I got here. He offered me a lyft 40 miles home, until he realized how far I lived then told me that I can have my car towed home! I then became furious and told that man whatever you did, undo it! Then the technician grabbed a part from the trash can and put it back on my car! Which to me it looked like my actual pcm (computer), not ignition switch, because he placed the part back on underneath the hood!!!

If i'm not mistaken the ignition switch is inside the vehicle not under the hood! After he placed that board back into my car it started right up. So he was telling me that the problem was not the ignition switch but the computer and they couldn't get the parts to sync together. So now here I am driving my vehicle only when it wants to start!
