I bought the Dodge in 2002 and had only minor problems such as normal wear and tear of brakes and battery changes. I did have the tie rods to go out on me a few years ago, then the radiator busted on me about 2 years ago. Other than that it has always got me to my destination and never broke down on me to leave me stranded. All of a sudden I took the car in because the air conditioner was not giving out cold air and was told the entire frame had rusted and I needed to get rid of the car pronto because the repairs were not worth the hassle or the car and it is now dangerous to drive since the wheels can now seperate at any given moment. If I would have known about the treatment that can be put under the car at time of purchase I would have gladly gotten it, especially if I knew it was going to be the end of my car.
Another weird thing about the Dodge Neon is the weird tick tick noise the engine makes and it has been making it for years. The mechanic told me it was just noise and the engine is fine so no worries, however when driving the car, everyone stops and stares because the weird tick tick noise that is extremely loud sure brings alot of unwanted attention.
I only have 107,000 miles on the car and it is considered junk at this point due to the rusting frame. I was hoping to have this car a few more years, but that is not the case now!
