: the contact stated when driving at 30 mph, a wind draft was noticed in the steering wheel making it difficult to control. Upon inspection by the contact, water was notice in the back floor board. The vehicle was taken to the local dealership were they determined the seal around the tail lights had a small area that may have not been sealed properly. The dealer replaced the sealant around the tail lights, but was unable to determine the cause of the steering problem.

Consumer stated while stopped at a light, as she attempted to step on the gas, the pedal began to act erratic, which caused the vehicle to hit the person in front and would not stop. The vehicle was repaired, but now it hesitates when driving or stopping. Other problems are as followed: The electrical lights and alarms, engine/cooling system, equipment(not spec), fuel system, heater/defrost/vent, park brake, power train, serv. Brakes, steering, structure, suspension, visual systems, the air bag module, (brain of the vehicle) computer, and a cracked motor head. Cause of incident: Wear/corrosion/rust, locks, and stability.

Steering would become difficult on a intermittent basis, dealer was contacted and located a leak in power steering pump, pump was replaced.

In the mentioned accident, richard mitchell was killed when the vehicle steering wheel crushed him in his seat, the steering column did not collapse. The airbags did deploy, but it they did not save his life. We have multiple pictures of the vehicle. It is also available for viewing.
