Let's just say that getting into this car was cheap....at first. In the long run, with all the money I spent out of pocket for parts...$300 for a new set of CV axles, $400 for a set of shocks and struts, wheel bearings constantly going out, all of the speakers decided to call it quits at the same time when the 5 cd disc changer crapped out (had to tear that thing open with the jaws of life to get them out).
As for my social life, this car put everything on suspense....literally! Everyone who would look at that car would dart like a cockroach when the lights came on to run and hide somewhere. Who wants to be seen in a Dodge Neon? From 2006 to 2014, I had been plagued with nothing but social suspense that almost led to social suicide. I dumped more cash into this car for repairs than I did for anything else....probably the equivalent of a normal social life making car notes on a better quality car. I literally had thoughts of igniting this car on fire and rolling it into the bay or parking it out on the firing range to be 'accidentally' blown up just to be rid of it. Driving this car in public made me feel creepy. So creepy that I wanted to put a paper bag on my head and do the walk of shame unnoticed but how can one not have a Dodge Freaking Neon go unnoticed?
Seriously. I have made so many trips down to AutoZone that everyone there not only knows me by my first name, they also know my dad by name as well. That is really, really bad when you have only one car that has sh*t breaking on it all the time. Yes, this car is old to begin with but I've been wanting it to die and just let me move on. This car has been nothing but cancer to me the entire time that I've owned it....it's time to move on.
