The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Neon. When the contact opened the vehicle door, a mouse was seen running from the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle and under the seat. The contact stated that the rodent entered the vehicle through the air vents in the rear of the vehicle to chew on the wires inside the engine compartment. The contact had to place mouse traps inside the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.

Good morning, I have a 2002 Dodge Neon that I have put money into and I have experienced dishonesty from mechanics until now; paying lots of money to fix a problem that cannot be fixed. I was informed last week that this leak on my car cannot be fixed because its a manufacturer problem. Apparently, this is a problem with all Neon's. its a fluid leak of oil. A recommended mechanic diagnosed my car and informed me of this news. He said that the sealant is gone and cannot be repaired by any mechanic. What happens now" because this problem cannot be fixed and I'm not in a position to purchase a vehicle, is there a recall to repair this problem" I also had to disassemble my radio because after replacing my battery, the electrical fuse was replaced several times along with the alternator because the radio played after the car was turned off and would kill my battery.

My headlights & fog lights stopped working last week. The only way I was able to drive in the dark was holding my high-beams on. I took my car to the shop on Friday, it was $500 to replace a burnt wiring harness & multifunction switch. There was no warning that this system would stop working. I had no choice but to pay for the repairs because of the time change and the fact it gets darker earlier, I had to have headlights to go work. I think this is something Dodge should have warned their customers about or replaced. Something failed in the system, this is not normal wear and tear.

I have a 2002 Dodge Neon SXT. For about a year now my fog lights have not worked properly. When my headlights are on my fog lights flicker on and of on their own. If I go over a bump the turn on another bump turns them off. They even flicker on and off on smooth road. I thought nothing about it until I started smelling something electrical burning. I then saw a stream of white smoke coming out of the top of my steering column through the hazard light button. This happens everytime I turn on my headlights. I have not had the problem repaired yet but I need to very soon. I am most scared that a fire will ignite while I am driving or the electrical problem will cause my airbag to deploy and cause an accident resulting in injury or death.

I have a 2002 Dodge Neon. In the first year I had the car I had the typical car problems but nothing too major. I have replaced the battery 6 times in the car, since purchase. In may of 2006, is when the problems began rolling in. My main computer had died in the car, a $900 repair. After contacting Dodge to get a new computer to put in the car, I had to wait for 7 months for it to be shipped, due to such a large back order. And the computer was only shipped after Dodge was called and I had threatened to contact the better business bureau. The day I had picked up the car from getting the computer installed, my radiator and transmission went out. So I had to repair both of them. Only a few weeks later the car was yet again in the shop for yet another transmission problem. The check engine light is now back on, upon having the computer code hooked up to the car, I have learned that there is a transaxle control system failure and an incorrect gear ratio condition in 2nd and 3rd gear. The car will not go above 45 mph. When I start it and put it in drive it takes a few minutes for the car to recognize that its in the drive gear and when it finally does go into drive the entire car jerks. It will do that for several minutes. This will now be the 8th time from December, 07 to August, 07 that I have had to make repairs to the transmission. My car is only 5 years old, there is no reason on why I should be having so many problems. I have taken care of my car and it has received the proper maintenance. I have put more then $9000 in the car since purchase, having to go as far as to have a family member take out a second mortgage on their home to pay for the repairs. After looking up complaints online, I have found numerous complaints about transmission problems, why has this not been recalled"? why is it that the only recall on the Neon is the lighting system?"

My 2002 Dodge Neon ES has had nothing but problems leading up to the expiration of my warranty. Everything from electrical issues to radiator problems to the transmission. I took it for service at 65,000 miles because the transmission was slipping. My dealership said it was the radiator and the transmission was fine. I knew they were lying and sure enough, at 72,000 miles, 2,000 miles after my warranty expired, my transmission is dead. Chrysler Corp. Refuses to fix or even discount a transmission for me saying that my car is "above and beyond" any warranty. I don't consider 2,000 miles above and beyond, especially considering the car had 5,000 miles when I bought it and was considered brand new.

The gauges, (gas, RPM's, oil, temperature) on my 2002 doge Neon will go haywire while driving the car. The bell for the door will also go off while I'm driving. I don't know how fast I'm driving or how much gas I has left. And the bell for the door will constantly ring. I took it to a Dodge dealer who ran some tests on it and they cannot find the problem. It seem to happen more frequently when the weather is warm.

Electrical problem panel lights inoperative. The day before the vehicle broke down, the vehicle was in the repair shop for what the consumer thought was a faulty wiring problem. The consumer received an estimate for $825 to repair the inside cluster. An inspection revealed the vehicle had oil and transmission fluid in the reservoirs, in addition to that the transmission was rattling, the battery, alternator, belt and water pump had to be replaced.

My car is in the shop for the 5th time since November of 2003. Sometimes when driving, the car will lurch or will die unexpectedly. When it lurches, the RPM's rev up for a few seconds and the radio crackles off. When it dies, it sometimes dies when I am at a stop or when I am driving down the road. When it does, all power is gone, I cannot even turn on the hazard lights. It sometimes regains power within a minute, once it took 16 hours. When the power returns, the radio has returned to the beginning of the dial and the clock is reset to 12:00 am. This is extremely dangerous when the power is lost...even if I'm able to coast onto the shoulder of the road I have no hazard lights to warn oncoming traffic, which is very frightening at night time. The dealer has replaced the PCM module, the ignition switch, front end wiring harness, engine harness, motor mounts and replaced the wires that connect the battery. None of the fixes have worked and they have no idea what to do to diagnose the problem, much less fix it.

My car is only two years old. When we bought the car we bought an aftermarket warranty for the car. My instrument panel and interior lights completely went out one day and I took it to the dealer I bought it from. They amazing could not find anything. A second time this has happened and the battery died on the car. The dealership replaced the battery they said because that was the cause of my problem. They never tried to charge or jump the battery. I have yet to pick up my car, but I don't think that the battery going dead caused this issue. If that was the case the battery would not allow me to ever start the car. I believe that this is a dangerous issue that needs to be addressed with Dodge as I have talked to others who have had this issue. Also I don't think that it is appropriate for a car with a bumper to bumper warranty on it that is only two years old should be breaking down. It is very unsafe to have all the gauges go out, and as soon as I can I am getting rid of the car. I just don't want anyone else getting hurt because of Dodge's reluctance to address this problem.

My interior light and my gauges in my car are not working. I can't see how fast I am going or how much gas I have in my car because they aren't moving. The first time it stopped working a fuse wasn't all the way in I pushed it in underneath the hood and it worked. Then the next time that it went out I tried that same fuse and pushed it in and it still didn't work I had someone check the fuse and they said that the fuse wasn't burnt out. They pulled the fuse out and put it back in and it worked. Now this is the third time that this has happened and nothing is working. I took it to the dealer and they said something about the clusters need to be fixed. This car is only two years old and I should not be having these types of problems with this car I don't have 700 dollars to pay for this and this car is still practically new.
