When I purchased my 2005 Dodge Neon SXT in March, 2011 there was a leak coming from the sunroof. The car lot that I purchased it from agreed to fix the problem. They sent me an automotive repair shop to get it fixed and they ordered a new seal which is what they thought the problem was. When the new seal came in, they took my sunroof out and realized that the entire metal framing around the glass was rusting out. They were unable to attach the seal back around it because there were actual pieces rusted out and it would have continued to leak. My new sunroof has been on order since March, 2011 and it is now Sept. 1,2011 and I still don't have a sunroof. I've had a piece of plastic on the roof of my car since March!! Chrysler keeps saying the part is on backorder and they keep moving the projected shipping date back further!!? I understand they no longer manufacture this vehicle and they have to get it from a supplier now but seriously....the vehicle is only 6 years old and you can't get parts for it??! My theory is that they manufactured the vehicle and parts should be available somehow! All the salvaged Neons sunroofs are no good because they have all had this problem & it appears there is a problem with the design which actually should have been a recall. Needless to say, the snow will be flying soon and I still have a piece of plastic over my roof. This is the first Chrysler product I've owned and so far, I'm not impressed!

It was just a hassle to figure out wear the water was coming in. I figured it out on my own as to wear the water was leaking. Dealers could not even figure it out.

Water leaking into trunk under spare tire and leaving a puddle, thus draining into back passenger floorboards. Leaves car smelling MUSTY and leaves CONDENSATION on inside of windows. Happens with EVERY rain and snow! DODGE NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP!

Discovered the floor getting wet and, upon further investigating, found water under the spare tire in the trunk. Don't know if it's coming from the trunk or if the rear window seal is leaking.

I purchased a used 2005 Dodge Neon, brought it home, washed it, and discovered that the back seat was wet. Upon further inspection I realized the water was leaking from the trunk. When I opened the trunk the floor board was dry. Then I lifted the floor board to reveal the spare tire section the the trunk, and there it was , about 2 inches of water that had apparently spilled thru to the seats. I just purchased this vehicle today, with no warranty. If anyone has a solution that has worked for them for sure, please let me know. In the mean time I will be talking with the dealer that I purchased the vehicle from. Other than that I love the vehicle. Please help!!!!

I had a 2000 Dodge Neon I bought new in May of 2000. Within the first month I identified several 'minor' issues that were corrected immediately. One of those issues was a badly leaking trunk seal. It wound up being the best little car I have ever owned. After its demise (that is a whole other story) I chose to purchase a 2005 Dodge Neon used. Now that we finally had rain here in Texas, this car also has a trunk that leaks. I check the net for similar Neon owner comments and it seems the leak issue is a running theme. Had I known about your site when I had the 2000 Neon, I would have posted it.
