Neon SXT 2.0L

Yea the stock rotors made a lot of noise in the mornings. After I did a full wash at the local do it yourself car wash the brakes would really sing that first time I hit them. Once I replaced them with drilled rotors I bought of Ebay the noise stopped.

Neon SXT 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

My very first Brand NEW Car, the 2005 Neon has brakes that squeal and grab pretty bad every time they get some moisture on them. I think it's poor quality materials/design of drums, shoes, rotors, pads, etc. This is a simple annoyance, but really should never happen and is frustrating. I've never messed with the brakes yet other than checking them for wear. The car has 50,000 miles on it now and still does the same thing, then when they dry out, it's fine again. Well it's fine other than the fact that the brakes have had poor stopping power ever since it was new. It has poor pedal, and the brakes seem underpowered even for a small, lightweight car. I'm a big Dodge fan, but this car has lacked some luster.

Neon SXT 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,500 miles

Ever since the car was new, brakes squeaked loudly when first starting out in the morning . actually got worse for awhile and now at 17,500 miles it has settled down to minor squeaking. But the brakes do make noise all the time now, not just in the morning.
