This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
The lower radiator hose clamp fell off and the hose separated from the radiator. This happened during lunch time at work. Car of course overheated quickly and a local Dodge dealer sent out a tow truck to bring in the car.

ran hot, smoked, all fluids up to date, waited all day for roadside assistance, really inconvenient

I changed the thermostat and the radiator cap. I have let it run with the cap off to get air out of it as suggested. Nothing works. It still runs hot! It circulates good and no leaks anywhere. The fan works too. I don't know what else to do to it to get it to stop running hot!
