Neon SXT 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 125,000 miles

It jerks every time I shift gears, no matter what, I have tried letting someone else drive it to find out their opinion and they said the same thing.

Neon SXT - 4 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,000 miles

For starters:

AutoBeef is a word that hardly explains Diamler- Chrysler's / Mopar's WORST IDEA EVER!!!! As a Five Star Tech myself, I have seen alot. The 2005 Dodge neon is the worst vehicle on the road in my opinion... With extreme premature wear problems, from ticking coming from the motor, (Lifter's tapping "especially 1 & 3") To their 4-Speed automatic transmission (which in my eye has more problems than carter has liver pills!)

Neon SXT 1.8L Sohc

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Bought a dodge neon "used" unfortunately, things went smooth until the warranty expired, then all the problems came. Like many others, the dealer ship didn't want to help at all n they suggested i contact the manufacturers, yeah right. for an 05, this car came with many problems, battery completely died after a month, ive gone through 4 alternator belts since i got it, 2 power steering belts, but my biggest grip is the transmission going out after such low mileage. I get the error code p0700, i got the computer hooked up to it and they said my solenoids were going out and I need a new tranny which would cost 1400 dollars. How does one make car payments when all my money goes to repairs? word to the wise, never buy a dodge, or a neon. EVER!!!

Neon SXT 2.O

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Dodge has never fixed the transmission problems on their cars. They all have problems once they hit 80,000 or more ,miles. They did a software update on my car and charged me for the update. An update means that it wasn't correct in the first place, which dodge should step up and fix it. Now my car has no forward or reverse gears, one day after this update. I called dodge and they said "you bought a used car deal with it" Dodge is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They only care about the cars until they are out of warranty, then beware consumer. Their cars will fall apart shortly after 3 years or 36,00 miles and they never fix the problem. It is their way of ensuring their future monies, by having to get your car repaired often. DON'T BY DODGE!!!!!
