A/C stopped working within the 4th year of owning the Nitro. Due to the difficulty of the repair, there were only three shops in my area that would repair the vehicle. My husband is an HVAC technician and to avoid the cost of a minimum $1200, he replaced the compressor within three days with a friend. I do have photos of the car and will share as soon as I get copies.

I have owned my car for 8 years and in that time, all four windows have had to be repaired because of the electrical problems. Also the door handles have broken twice. The air conditioning went out because it froze up and I am unable to put the money out for it. The window covering to reduce the sun has melted on the window so I am unable to see out the passenger window. The last straw is that the steering wheel has started to lock up when I am driving it. Dodge Nitro is a lemon. I would never buy another Dodge the car is crap. The entire car should have been recalled and destroyed.

The fan on the air conditioner/heat works intermittently. If you leave the fan turned on and turn off the car engine sometimes the fan will be going when you get back in the car. The fan control knob gets very hot when the key is off and the fan is running.
