No more than 200 ft from my driveway my 2007 Dodge Nitro horn just went off by itself for 15-20 minutes unable to go in gear or turn off truck after removing the battery cables it still ran on its own with no battery cables connected or key in ignition. Not will not crank at all or turn on but all lights, radio, and windows work. Happened chrismas day and now without transportation for me and my wife as it gets colder everyday. I need some serious help fast, I have been searching online and many causes that seem to be prevalent are the skreem or sentry key remote entry module or wireless control module on my model of vehicle and year of 2007 can this be fixed.what a great way to spend christmas stranded in a paring lot, if you can assist with help I would be apprecieated more than you know.

I own a 2007 Dodge Nitro. I recall was sent out for these vehicles but my vehicle wasn't included. My car is displaying stalled engine defects. The tipm is faulty. Many consumers are having the same complaints and Chrysler should be held accountable. The part for the vehicle is on back order. Thanks.

I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro with milage at 48,545. I have had a few incidents where I have been driving my car and while turning into a parking space my car has turned off on me out of no where also my stearing wheels locks up on me, thankfully this has not happened while I have been on freeway or on street driving at regular driving speeds otherwise you would have been hearing from my attorney. Also we dont get much rain in California, however during the rainy season I dont know from where but there is water getting into my car on D, leaving puddles of water in my car. Another issue is that my alarm goes off at all times of the day by itself. Also I do regular oil changes as needed on my car, in between oil chnages I notice my oil goes down substantually bout 3 to 4 quarts, and there is no leak in my car. The bottom line here is that the vehcile I purchaed is a lemon.

While driving on asphalt and dip, slope, and curve, the vehicle wanted to stalled and looses power. Brake light for entire ride. This power lost is consistence when going over railroad track or slope and dip motions. It been like this with power and stability since it was purchase new from the dealer. I'm the owner. The suspension system is the worst, it feel like you going to roll-over when there's a dip on the roadway.

My child and I were in an accident that resulted in the complete loss of our vehicle. The bottom of car was leaking and it according to bystanders caught fire. The complaint that I have is the fact that I received the recall notice for my vehicle back in the month of may and called the local dealership for 3 months to schedule the safety recall repair of the underbody transmission tunnel shield, but every time I called I was told the parts were not available for the 3 months I tried to follow up only to learn that the transmission was leaking during the accident. I was and am really disappointed at the continuous recall notices after the fact of my attempts. Please correct this problem with the dealerships immediately. Thank you

A constant and loud ticking sound is coming from the 4.0 V6 engine, the engine stalls and there is loss of power usually when turning a corner. The engine also misfires at times when accelerating. This should be documented as a safety issue, as I am very concerned that this could potentially cause an accident in traffic.

In July 2013 my husband and I was on the freeway going about 70 the Nitro shut off and dash lights came on. He was able to make it to the shoulder. The car started right up. We took it to the dealer and nothing was found. No problem shutting off again until November 9, 2013. I was driving on the freeway with my children about 65 and it shut off. Once again I was able to make it to the shoulder. Took it back to the Dodge dealer this time they kept the car for about a week. The service guy informed us that they haven't found anything wrong and they were in contact with Chrysler about the problem and as soon as they find the problem they would contact us. After a week the service guy called and said they have been working with Chrysler and haven't been able to figure it out. He stated "that Chrysler wants the coils replaced but not sure if that would solve the problem that they haven't found." The repair wasn't covered by the warranty so we paid the $400. So far so good but it was 4 months from the initial shut off before it happened again. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

On April 23, 2013 I took off from a red light at the top of a hill. As I coasted down the hill at approximately 25mph, my car's engine shut off. I was not able to use the brakes or fully turn the steering wheel. I was able to force the steering wheel slightly, enough to turn the car into a side street and yard of a home and come to a complete stop. I attempted to restart the vehicle by turning the key in the ignition. The car would not start. I removed the key from the ignition and put it back in an the car would still not start. I opened the door to completely shut down the electrical components that were still working (radio, lights, etc) and was able to restart the car successfully. I was able to drive the rest of the way home without incident. On May 13, 2013 as I was leaving work, my car would not stay running. When I put the key in the ignition, the car would start and shut off after about 7 or 8 seconds while the electrical components (lights, radio, etc) stayed running. This occurred three times. On the fourth try, the car would not start at all. I disconnected the battery and reconnected the battery and attempted to restart the car. On the second try, the car was able to start and stay running.

Car gave no indication that there was a problem. As I started to accelerate the car just went dead. I had it towed & the shop told me the engine was blown. The pin broke & went through the piston, put a hole in it & cracked it. The shop said it was a known design flaw.

I drove to the nearby mall, parked my Dodge Nitro, locked it, and went inside to do some shopping at radio shack, I came back out and got into my vehicle, inserted the key and turned the key when I heard a very loud thump from the front of the engine compartment. I had no electrical power. I got out of my Nitro and popped open the hood and looked inside and saw that the battery had exploded, both caps had blown off and the top of the battery was cracked wide open with battery acid pouring out. This was a very loud thump when I turned the key. I am so thankful I was not checking my power steering fluid or something like requiring the engine to be started, I could possibly been seriously injured. I call the Dodge compliant line and made a complaint. This was a Dodge factory installed battery. I have pictures of the battery. I ruined a good shirt and pair of jeans getting the battery out. I replaced the battery and so far the Nitro is doing fine. I would like some form of compensation from Dodge for clothes that got ruined and for replacing the battery. This could be a serious problem and dangerous one.
