I had my vehicle a week before it start misfiring it-??s been months I had it worked on numerous times and still has not been fixed. When I try to crank it I have to keep my foot on the gas and if I let go it will cut back off I had so many parts replaced and the issue remain the same

The TIPM is starting to fail. The power locks do not work, the car has problems starting has a very slow start, the horn will randomly go off and sometimes it does not want to start at all. Every article I-??ve read, and every dealership I-??ve talked with has said to replace the entire TIPM module. There are many other cases like this and it all comes down to the module. So with this said I am asking for either reassurance that it is that. Or receive help to be able to fix it.

Four total incidents of the vehicle engine shutting off while driving the car. Most recent today 12-17-21 was placed in extremely dangerous situation and was almost rear ended 5 times by other vehicles traveling at speeds greater than 55 mph. 1st instance occurred back in 2007 traveling West bound on I635 in Dallas (speed of 65mph) engine shut off, loss of power steering coasted to side of road. 2nd incident Fall 2007 - from complete stop to turn left and cross divided highway, the engine shut down right in the middle of the intersection and was nearly broadsided by oncoming car traveling at 45 mph. 3rd incident happened while driving in my neighborhood, engine shut down and loss of power to steering. Daimler Chrysler issued a recall to reprogram the TPIM module back in 2008 to address the problem. Nothing since then until today. I am the original Owner of this car and it has been well maintained and is still covered under the manufacturers warranty for as long as I own the vehicle. What has prompted me to report this problem is the fact that I could have been seriously injured. There was no warning whatsoever and the place where this took place had a blind spot as the car lost power during the climb and coasted at 2 mph down slope on a bend on the bridge. Cars traveling towards me had no visibility to my vehicle which was for all practical purposes at a stand still. I notified the Dodge Chrysler dealership of what took place and will also contact MOPAR to raise this serious problem. If a vehicle doesn't start is one thing, but to have a car loose power out of nowhere without warning has almost cost me serious harm on multiple occasions. Daimler Chrysler should do something before loss of life takes place.

The EGR valve has to replaced yearly. I have replaced every year since I-??ve had it. It causes the check engine to come on and inhibits me from getting the nitro inspected and causes damage to my engine. I have had to replace it 3 times.

Engine started smoking while my daughter was sitting in parking lot area for about 30 min. Engine was off. She got out of vehicle grabbing her dog from the back. She ran inside the building to get me (mother) less than 2 min the smoke gradually got heavier and darker then fire was dripping out from under engine. I tried to pop the hood thinking it could get air to maybe help the fire but it wouldnt pop up. I took fire extinguisher to engine along with someone else. Shortly after the police and fire trucks arrived. There were several cars surrounding but they moved before any damage occured. There was damage to the building that she was parked at, soffit and cracked window from the heat. There was about 20 people that witnessed the entire thing. No problems with car prior to. The weather was clear sunshine 75 degree's.

The contact was informed that a diagnostic test needed to be performed; however, the contact declined. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 183,990.

This was a recall back in 2007 but of course my VIN# was not included and it expired. How can you determine which vehicle and when it will be affected when you send out a recall? I bought the vehicle second hand and do not know what the previous owner did or did not have done. I drive my elderly mother and grandchildren in this vehicle and now I do not feel safe.when I called I was told "too bad" so now it costs me $1200 for a safety recall that should be honored on all of Chrysler vehicles. Hopefully someone in the Chrysler family will not have a bad outcome in one of their faulty vehicles.

Driving are parked the horn will sound and lights flash. Parked with engine off windshield wipers, and fluid will turn on, and radio will come on. Windows and locks don't work all the time. On 3/21/18 I was driving through a major intersection when the battery dash light came on in my truck. I found this to be odd since I had just had a brand-new battery installed on in my truck on 1/8/18, then the following events occurred in rapid succession: All of the dash warning lights came on, the A/C which was on at the time and blowing very cold air, began blowing hot air, I attempted to roll down the electric powered windows and they would not work; the windshield wipers came on without prompting. I quickly decided to turn around and go back home since I was a short distance away. I decided to take a route through a residential neighborhood since I was unsure what would happen next and thought it would be best not to be on a major roadway if anything further occurred. I made a left into the residential neighborhood and noticed my truck was moving very sluggish and making a weird noise. I was approaching a stop sign up ahead; however, before I could apply the brakes my truck just cut off. I quickly put the gear in park and attempted to turn on my hazard light for oncoming traffic to go around me but I realized at this point my truck had absolutely no power. A gentleman on a bicycle stopped to assist me and we decided it would be best if he pushed my truck around the corner I was stalled at, to keep from obstructing oncoming traffic. He instructed me to put the truck in neutral but I was unable to do so, I could not turn the car on nor could I move it out of park gear. The street I was stopped on is a major road for entering and exiting the neighborhood that I was attempting to pass through to get home. The contact owned a 2007 Dodge Nitro. While driving 10 mph, there was an abnormal popping noise and the driveshaft emerged through the floor and struck the air bags. The frontal and driver side air bags deployed. The driver sustained injuries to the face. The passenger also sustained injuries to the face and had loss of vision. Medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to clear lake Chrysler Jeep Dodge (15711 gulf freeway, webster, tx 77598), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and a Chrysler engineer deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was then towed to ron carter Chrysler Jeep Dodge (3005 fm 528 rd, alvin, tx 77511) where it was diagnosed that the seat belts, air bags, drive shaft, air bag module, and a hole in the floor needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Air conditioner started blowing hot air, had serviced- battery good-reported bad alternator -- replaced $289. Fan locked up breaking belt--replaced $30. Then mod #2 tested bad-- replaced $450. This all started approx. 2 weeks ago mid July 2016, and 2007 Dodge Nitro continues to overheat, and air conditioner continues to blow hot air. A/C coolant tested fine, but not making cold air into cabin of SUV. Mostly highway driving.

My 07 Dodge Nitro rt has always had an issue while filling up, it doesn't stop like other vehicles and just over flows splashing gas all over the vehicle and floor. My fix for this was just to not fully fill the tank. The other issue I've had for the better part of a year is that I've had a "gas cap" error light that after replacing said gas cap and a trip to pepboys turned out it was a small evap leak caused by a faulty gas tank/innards common in older Nitros, in my experience this also causes a hard start. I think this is obviously a manufacturing issue in the gas tank and would like some guidence on a resolve. Thank you
