Had the Nitro in for an oil change when they informed me the rear brakes were worn out. Both pads and rotors would have to be changed. The pads were not worn to the squealers yet but I was told the rotors were worn beyond the safe thickness. ??? On inspection the front pad showed no wear at all. Had the work done but kept the old parts for inspection. None of the pads were worn out and the rotors were down 10 thousands on each side. Not sure if that is a significant amount. Sounds like there is a pressure problem between the rear and front system. Also an incompatibility problem with the pad compound and the metal in the rotor. Don't like the fact the dealer could not offer an explanation for this. Presently the front brakes have 52,000 on them and show no wear at all.

Premature brake repair outside of normal wear and tear. Of course it was not covered by warranty. Never is. Dodge Nitro this auto should have stayed in testing before it was introduced. Great body. Awful vehicle performance.
