So, the vehicle just stopped running in the city. Then it started; then the gauges all went crazy. Took to the shop and paid $446. to replace a bunch of sensors. Then it did it all again 2 days later, now, I'm told its going to be another $1200 to fix. WTF? From all I've found, you know its a damn hazard yet I'm the one getting screwed. I'm scared to death to drive it anywhere and worried if I sell it; I'll be held responsible. What should I do?

It sucks. At first the wiper motor didn't work, now I drive with no wipers. Then the power windows and now the locks. It really sucks there should be a recall on all Dodge scrap metal so called cars.

I've been without a vehicle for a week now. The dealership told us it was the wiper motor. They had the car twice in one week and then told us it was the TIPM. The part alone will cost $936.00 plus they want to charge $300.00 for the wiper motor not needed. It's bad when you have to check a weather report to see if your able to drive to work. There have been recalls on previous year models but not the 2011 however I've read multiple reports or this module going bad.

Had I known that Chrysler has a problem with a vehicle that can not be fixed, I would not have purchased a Chrysler vehicle and I will not in the future. I am making payments on a vehicle that at this point can not be fixed. The TIPM module is back ordered and my mechanic was told two to three months maybe. What am I suppose to do without a vehicle for that long. I had to arrange to get transportation yet I still have to make car and insurance payments on a vehicle that I will never be able to trust again.
This vehicle is a 2011 and has been in the shop multiple times. I should have known when other things started., it has had the front and rear transmission seals replaced (this was while it was under warranty), the transmission shifting module replaced ((which happened out of state and I had to have it towed back to MD) this also under warranty). I had a front caliper fail, which I think is not something that could happen on any vehicle.
That worst part is I still owe a year of payments on a vehicle that is really just not reliable.

I am tired of being stranded !!! They said ground wire deep inside cables had rusted and broken. That of course was not a warranty covered item.

I have had problems with the car just being dead since I bought it. I replaced battery at 36 months. I had all the post and cables replaced. It still does it. I am tired of going to to get in the car at. Random times and it is completely dead.

Apparently a known issue. Sometimes the car will not start. Starter will continue to stay engaged even though you turn the key back...have to literally turn the key completely off to get it to stop. After several attempts it might start but it does not appear willing. You can drive it a few blocks turn it off and try again and it will be perfectly fine...totally random. Already replaced the ignition switch...that's not it, keeps doing the same thing. Love the vehicle but also hate it. How is it Dodge can make such great looking vehicles but their build quality is right up there with Harbor Freight.

I have literally had to remove the fuses for my interior lighting, my window wipers and alarm. My alarm will go off every 10 minutes. My horn randomly goes off while I drive. My wipers and headlights are on from the minute I turn my keys in the ignition. My blinkers don't work. Literally everything in and on my steering wheel have not been working for a few weeks now and it seems like every day or week something else isn't working or stuck in the on position. I'm at a loss for words. How am I supposed to safely drive my car and feel sad when all my electrical things don't work. Its unreal!

Dodge Dealership has reprogrammed the TIPM and other module twice, the problem still arises. The mechanics claim problem is not able to be replicated after the second reprogramming, but then it reoccurred. Dodge said my VIN does not fall under the TIPM recall, however I have every last problem every other TIPM recalled vehicle experienced. I've spent $1,000.00 on trying to fix the TIPM only to be told by the Dodge mechanic that it is not a TIPM problem, and they will not cover the cost to replace it.
I am very irritated, basically Dodge gave me the full runaround and charged me for services they didn't provide; then left me with the option to either pay them for vehicle parts my car does not need, or to just get rid of the vehicle.
I will never buy Chrysler again!

The entire electrical system is failing on my car. Windshield wipers, head lights, over head lamps, all gauges, every sensor light in the dash are sporadically engaging and disengaging. I called the Dodge customer service hotline to check for recall that was issued about 15 days after I bought my car, but even though its the same symptoms my car is not covered. The customer service center was nice enough to call the local dealership to "help schedule repairs" but returned on the line saying, " It would be a 5-6 day wait before my car could be diagnosed and there was nothing more they could do." My car has 37K miles and is having a well documented issue, and Dodge expects me to pay out of pocket and wait months to have it fixed.

I purchased this vehicle in november 2013 unaware that they had a recall on the TIPM electrical part. My vehicle broke down on 02/16/2014 I had it towed to dealership. They claim they could not find the problem and my car started right up. They claimed at the time they ran a diagnostic and nothing was found. I picked up my vehilce on Tuesday and drove it home only for the car not to start again. Called the dealership back inforned them of the issue. They told me to wait 30 mins and try to start again. I waited a whole hour the car started and I drove it back. I only live two miles from dealership, once i got there and turned the car off it wouldnt start. At that point they came out and did the diagnostic in front of me. The next day i recieved a call from dealership saying its the TIPM and its going to cost me 1,030 dollars as well as 117.00 for diagnostic beacuse its not covered in power train warranty.

DURING REPAIR OF SAFETY RECALL N38/NHTSA 13V-282 ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS, GRIFFIN DEALERSHIP WAS WELL AWARE OF THE ABS SENSOR AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTING UP DASH, ALSO SPEED CONTROL DISENGAGING. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT REPLACE THE TIPM MODULE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. DEALERSHIP DID A 'FIX' REFLASHING THE TIPM.
NOW THE STARTER CRANKS BUT WON'T START-CAUSED BY THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUING TO RUN AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF-UNEXPECTED DRAINING OF THE BATTERY- VEHICLE WON'T START AT ALL. HAVE BOUGHT NEW BATTERY, BUT CONTINUES TO WORSEN. THIS IS A SYMPTOM OF A FAULTY TIPM. 2011 DODGE NITRO HAS 60,200 MILES ON IT AND NOT DEPENDABLE.
DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE REPLACED TIPM MODULE IN 2012-WHEN PROBLEM WAS FIRST BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION - THE TIPM MODULE WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER ORIGINAL WARRANTY. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR NOT REPLACING IT IN 2012.
