I bought this vehicle from a Dodge dealership at 1 year old with 20k miles on it. I didn't notice that the lights on both side mirrors weren't working until two months later because it's not a daily driver. Upon closer look I noticed the lights are melted inside of the plastic lenses on both sides of the vehicle. I have an appointment June 1 to have both side mirrors replaced under warranty but I'm worried this will happen again as I don't know the cause. The lights aren't broken, they appear to be melted and on one side it looks like there is a broken up dandelion inside (a feathery substance).
I went to the dealer to replace the lights and of course they don't sell the light by itself. You have to replace the entire side mirror, which is BS. I don't need new mirrors. If it weren't under warranty the mirrors are $300/each and I need two. I sure hope this doesn't happen again when I'm out of warranty. Anyone else had this problem?
