The other day my friend bought a 1988 Dodge Ram 150 with a 5.2 V8. It was used as a farm truck for a few years then left for dead. Surprisingly there was no rust and only had a 89,000 miles on it. Got it tagged and titled, started driving. Yesterday when coming to a stop the engine sputtered, hesitated, then died. We started it right back up without a problem. After a few times we really started to get pissed as f*ck. We called the old owner and asked what could cause it. He stated that he had previously had the problem months ago.
After a few hours of brainstorming we made a list of potential problems and planned to fix them the next day. The next morning we went to the gas station and filled it to 3/4s of a tank. The problem immediately stopped. We ran the PISS out of it for two days got it down to a 1/4 tank and shortly thereafter the problem started again. So tomorrow we going through the WHOLE f*cking fuel system and replacing and cleaning it. Perfect truck, but my f*cking god is that stalling f*cking annoying.
