It has been a few years since I was notified that this truck has a defective takata air bag, yet the Dodge dealer has still not contacted me to fix the problem. I had called them a couple of times in the past, and every time I called them, they stated that they are aware of the problem and will contact me when they get the replacement parts. How much longer is this going to take?

I took it in to the dealer for passenger air bag recall.I scheduled an appointment 3 days advanced, even though I was there for 5 hours and my truck went in to shop and out right away but was left sitting. At that time I thought it was sitting probably because they where waiting for my new part; I asked if it was done at hour 5 and dealer said they where looking for me for the longest time after I clearly told them I was gonna wait. I was sitting right in front of them for hours and my fear is that dealer never inspected air bag at all. Heres what I got: R26 safety recall R26- passenger airbag inflator (recall) inspect passenger airbag part number and conduct supplemental restraint system test. No further action required. I have a feeling they bs this inspection, I dont trust them as far as I can throw them.

Takata recall- I received a recall notice for the passenger side airbag, late 2015. Received notice that part was available August 2016. I only used the vehicle for limited use while waiting for the replacement part. When I brought the truck in to have the airbag replaced, they told me they checked the part number on my airbag and it's good, it doesn't need to be replaced. So I lost the use of my vehicle for the last several months because a recall shouldn't have been issued or is it that Chrysler didn't want to spend the 15 minutes to check the part number when the issue first arose?
