Ram 1500 8-cyl

  • 140,000 miles
After getting off work around 11:30 P.M. I went to gas up at a chevron station. I left the station and went to the atm. After leaving the atm I got back into my vehicle it cranked, went dead and would not start again. I had the truck tow to a shop and according to the mechanic the valve fell from the engine. Now according to mechanic this is an ongoing problem with Dodge. I am concerned because the only major trouble I've had with this vehicle is getting spark plugs. If this is an ongoing problem then my 2014 Dodge that I have purchased will do the same time.

Ram 1500 10-cyl

  • 24,000 miles
Will driving on the highway the truck completely shut off and died. I was not able to safely maneuver the to the road and was almost rearended by the vehicle behind me. I had to get out of the truck and push it across 2 lanes of traffic to get it off the road. After further investigation I found that the tipm in 2006 Dodge trucks are bad. There has been no recall to date and this is an extreme safety liability. This is the first Dodge I have owned and I just purchased the vehicle 3 weeks ago. I will never own another Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep vehicle as long as live. I have researched on the internet through multiple blogs and found that very many people have experienced the same issue some not as fortunate as me and were actually involved in bad car accidents do to this same problem.

Ram 1500 6-cyl

This is the tenth time my truck has stalled out since I have owned it. There is no warning, errors or codes. It has taken place while driving, turning at low speeds and while stopped. Most recently was today in which I was almost rear ended and a victim of road rage by the other driver. The truck does start again, but it takes a few minutes. The truck will then run fine for a while and then it occurs again. Weather and road conditions do not have a factor in this. II have noticed that this is a common problem with many Dodge owners. This is a severe safety issue. I have been to the dealer and they have found no issues. All of the maintenance is up to date and beyond. I have all documents to prove the above mentioned. Dodge has replied by stating that the vehicle is out of warranty. There has to be an answer to this. This is a life safety issue. Please look into this.

Ram 1500 4WD 8-cyl

  • 60,000 miles
I was driving on interstate 90 when my truck suddenly shut down for no reason. No check engine lights, just a total loss of power and the steering locked up. I was able to restart it by throwing it into neutral, but it would not restart in park. This has been happening off and on, and no mechanics can seem to figure it out since it doesn't happen all the time. I'm scared to drive it. I have been on dodgeforum.com, and there are many Dodge models/years suffering this problem, but no recall has been issued. This is a major safety issue and I don't know what to do to get it fixed (nor do I have the money to keep taking it in again and again). It "codes out" as an electrical/computer issue of unknown origin that no one has yet been able to fix, despite replaced valves, relays, etc.

Ram 1500

  • 40,000 miles
The problem started in 2009. Went to drive the truck and could not get the truck to drive over 20 mph. Was able to get it to a dealer close by and had to have the throttle body positioning sensor replaced. Since that date I have had to have this same sensor changed 8 more times. Each time the private mechanic talks to Chrysler and they recognize there is a faulty problem with this part and will not recall the item. When this sensor goes out it will not let you drive more than about 20mph. Also had to replace the accelerated pedal positioning sensor 4 times. Blinker problems noted by many other consumers I have also had. Where you turn on the left blinker and the right blinker comes on. As well as the A/C problem many consumers have mentioned the door breaks and then all you have is outside air coming in. My mechanic has tried to get replacement parts from Chrysler to repair the problem and Chrysler does not sell this part (please explain to me how they can make the vehicle and not sell the part to repair it when it breaks knowing it breaks often). Tie rods have also been a problem with my truck. No matter how tight they are they continue to come loose even after being replaced and then the truck will shake. My main concern at this point is it intermittently will die while driving down the highway. It will start right back up but will die again and then it wont duplicate the problem for 2 or 3 days and then will do it again. Have not been able to diagnose this problem yet. If anyone knows any suggestions to look at please advise.
