The steering in this vehicle is terrible when braking, the dashboard is craked and broken very bad in several places Dodge wants to do nothing about these problems.when I apply the brakes the vehicle pulls very hard, this is not an allignment I have had that done changed the rotors the whole 9 yards still the same problem.the dash started out as a little crack now it is broken in several places.this is ridiculous.I will never purchase another Dodge they dont stand behind there vehicles.

1999 Dodge 2500 4X4 diesel brake line corrosion led to two failures resulting in no accidents. The brake line material used has no anti corrosion properties and corrodes in the midwest salt belt from purchase. The diesel lines adjacent to the brake lines are not corroded since they are made of a material which has corrosion resistant properties. All brake lines must be replaced. This is an extremely dangerous issue especially in towing or emergency braking situations. Professional opinion would be that the brake lines have only a 3-4 year safe lifetime.

1999 Dodge 2500 pick-up safety issue. The steel brake lines are rusting out, am replacing with stainless steel as should have been done at the factory. The stock brake line blew out behind the fuel tank, got lucky went off the road and rolled to a stop in the woods before hitting a tree.

Rear brake line on my 99 Dodge truck failed behind the tank on the frame rail due to rust. I had an emergency stop and the pedal went all the way to the floor. After inspection the rusted hard line had a pinhole in it from the added pressure of the emergency stop. I was able to avoid the collision but if I would have had a trailer it would have been a different story.

The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving approximately 30 mph in rainy weather conditions, the vehicle began to slide and the front wheels locked when the brake pedal was depressed. The failure occurred without warning; however, the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. Numerous gauges would not work while the vehicle was in operation. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the vehicle was operating properly. On a separate occasion, the vehicle was taken to another authorized dealer for a second opinion. The technician stated that the braking issue was a manufacturer defect, but there was no resolution. The VIN was not accepted by the system. The failure mileage was 79,000 and current mileage was 81,000. Updated 05/05/09.

: the contact stated the am/fm radio volume control would not work. Also, when raining hard, there was a leak inside the truck that stemmed from the roof of the vehicle. Third, the undercarriage was rusted. Fourth, the hydraulic brakes were fractured. The contact heard a leak noise and when the brake pedal was depressed, it went to the floor. The vehicle was parked in an idle position and there were no prior warnings. The vehicle was towed to the service dealer, who determined the brake line was rusted, fractured and needed to be replaced.

From the first 6000 miles-3 intake manifold gaskets, new tires, blow out & damaged truck, brakes, calipers and rotors bad, transmission not right, steering not right two rear axle seals blown, new engine at 63,000. It is now blown (we believe, the computer system & torque converter should have been replaced for the start). We have all our paperwork dealership does not!!!!!!!! warranty company does. We maintained this truck extremely well!!!!! we bought a total piece of junk.

: the contact stated during sudden braking at various speeds, the vehicle pulls to the right. The dealership has made multiple repairs, but the problem persists. The tie rods, brakes, and calipers have been replaced. The wheels have also been aligned.

Consumer states: Made a right-hand turn heard a bang wheel was hanging at an angle and right rotator was broken in half, the brakes pads were laying behind the truck, looks like spindle nugget had backed off of it.

The vehicle hesitated when changing gears. The consumer notice fluid on the ground of the parking lot. The dealership indicated that this occurred because the transmission cooler lines were defective and fluid leaked out. The manufacturer and the dealership were aware of this issue, and were installing an updated line and spring to correct the failure. The ABS lights and the brake light were on and was diagnosed as rear wheel speed sensor failure.

Vehicle pulls to the right when braking. Had it in to dealer to many times to count. No luck with anything they've done. Was surprised to see how many other "victims" have the same problem. Hope there's a permanent fix. It will probably take a death or two to get some one off their butt and fix this.
- Everett, WA, USA
When applying brakes vehicle pulls sharply to the left. Was in 6 times for repair. They couldn't fix it and expected me to pay for their experiments to try to fix it. The Chrysler rep tried to get out of paying under warranty. Finally fixed. Have driven truck about 1200 miles now and starting to pull again! brakes lock-up in a stern attempt to stop. Anti-lock brakes are a joke.

Pick-up pulls hard and suddenly to the right when brakes are applied. Pads, proportional valve, calipers, and rotor have been replaced at a great expense, but no effect on the problem.
- Deer Trail, CO, USA
The brakes locked up, which caused consumer to pump the brakes. The brakes would lock up when the weather was damp, when not in use for an extended period and when using four wheel drive all the wheels would lock up. This would only happen at temperatures of 32 degrees or colder. The manufacturer was notified and referred the consumer to the dealer for repairs. The transmission leaked at the rear output seal extension housing leaked at the case split silicone seal, the rear transmission seal leaked on the extended housing seal at the transfer case, the radio control had become inoperative, the wipers shorted out, and the fog light switch had gone bad.
