Our trouble with this truck starts at about 7 months of ownership and goes through now. We bought it new at Sands Bros Dodge in Quakertown, PA. The throttle malfuncted in May of 2003. We turned the truck on and the engine was racing uncontrollably. We quickly turned it off and took it in for repair. Since then, we had the truck into Sands Bros 18 times for other related and unrelated issues. In the past four months, the throttle control has malfunctioned at least two times. This is what happens: Upon idling in park or in gear but stopped, you press on the gas to go and there is no response. Habit is that you press a little more, then a little more. At this point it decides to go, and boy does it go. This is not a good thing if you are trying to pull out somewhere, or if you are just expecting to actually have control over your vehicle!!!!! Upon telling Sands Bros, the service guy said: "Then don't drive it!". He added that if I was unhappy I should "Take it somewhere else!". Please keep this in mind while dealing with this dealer. Also read my complaint about the M. I. Light because I can't waste time retyping several times, but I think people should know what my experience was before going there. I have this scheduled to be fixed at a local mechanic who knows more about what he's doing, and he's HONEST. He read three codes on this truck, and reminded me of the Federal emission warranty on the truck. After taking it to Sands, and having a fit there, I took it to Jarrett Dodge in Hatboro. They could only read one code. I have been informed that codes don't just disappear. There was only one place to touch the truck between my mechanic and Jarrett. Needless to say, without the codes, Jarrett couldn't ask Dodge to honor that warranty if nothing was showing up. When the truck was at Sands, we denied them permission to touch the truck. Draw your own conclusion here.
