There was a recall on the left tie rod replacement, which my local Dodge service inspected. In my case, the right tie rod snapped. I ended up crashing off the side of a mountain road into a ditch (no other damage thank goodness). Truck had to be retrieved by a wrecker in a remote mountainous area, and taken to a shop for repair. This location was 1.5 hours to my house, so I was out repair, wrecker, and time/money going to retrieve the vehicle. I asked Dodge for financial relief, but they kept falling back on recall on left side. Isn't it a coincidence that a recall on the left side, surely it couldn't affect the right side? Yeah right, Dodge is darn lucky I didn't sustain personal injury, body work, or worse going down the highway at a very high rate of speed.

Problem occurs suddenly and can be fatal. Has occured often enough on mulitiple year models that the first set of replacement parts supplied were recalled but no recall or admission by Dodge of problems with the original parts. Dodge hires an Asian company to receive their complaint calls. Although they are listed as "Customer Service", I could determine no service that they provide to customers. They guard their North American phone numbers carefully. I have been very satisfied with Chevy trucks and service in the past and will return to that brand in my next purchase.
