Had truck for 4 years, only put 42000 miles on it. Took it in to dealer for emissions problems three times, did egr /cooler /turbo / dpf " cleaning " X2, also upgraded ECM program /burned up and replaced, while attempting, finale straw was between 35K-42K miles, developed "death wobble " at highway speeds, took to dealer after I trouble shoot it, "was not the steering stabilizer shock" tie rod end at steering box was worn out. " non greasable " 40000 miles. Dealer said there was a "bulletin out " they replaced all steering linkage "tierod ends + rods ", then claimed it on the extended warranty, I paid the deductible / called Dodge, then traded off the truck for a Ford. Loved the Dodge truck / cummins eng. Hate Dodge service, I manage a 30 truck fleet, we had 10 Dodge's, now will have less in the future.

The contact then turned the ignition back on but it would continue to shut off every time he stopped at a light. There has not yet been an accident but I received a notice in the mail saying that the dash silencer pad in my truck may sag and contact the exhaust gas recirculation cooler, and that it may cause the silencer pad to locally overheat and cause an under hood fire without warning. I called the dealer where I purchased the truck and they told me that they would have to order more parts and that they could have it buy the middle for the following week. It is now Saturday of the following week and now I am told that Chrysler is only allowing 5 support brackets a week and that they won't be able to install for at least two weeks. Now this is supposed to be a safety issue that could potentially cause an under hood fire. I work construction and have to travel for work, I have a 34 foot 5th wheel that I, my wife and two children live in so we can be where ever the job requires. So what happens when this occurs and me and my family are pulling the 5th wheel down the highway and without warning my engine compartment catches fire, with plenty of air blowing in to fuel a fire surrounded by high pressure fuel lines" how much does it cost to replace the life of myself, my wife, my 4 year old son or my 9 month old daughter"

Extreme safety hazard - vehicle is dangerous!!!we purchased a 2007 Dodge diesel 6.7 liter engine megacab truck 14 months ago, and almost immediately the check engine light began showing on the error message board, along with messages about the particulate filter. We have brought the vehicle in for repairs at least 5 times since then with two total replacements of the pollution control system. The last one took over three weeks apparently because the parts were on backorder. We only put 250 miles on the truck since that time, and were driving over a high mountain pass (7000 feet elevation), when catastrophic failure occurred. I was driving down the pass and my foot was on the accelerator when the engine totally cut out. I was going about 50 miles per hour and only had a few seconds to brake hard before the brakes and steering failed to respond. No warning lights or error messages were showing on the dashboard. It was only because we were near a deep gravelly/sandy shoulder area that the truck stopped. We had the truck towed to the nearest Dodge dealer in missoula, mt (litia). Their mechanics say they do not find anything wrong. I have informed them that we will pursue the lemon law buy back from Chrysler on this vehicle. An internet search shows that this is a problem that is happening around the nation. Please expedite this report to inform people of the very dangerous situation with these vehicles and make Chrysler recall them before fatalities add up!!!!!!

My 2007 2500 4X4 diesel 6.7 has been a headache since the beginning. It has stalled several times the check engine light comes on for a short while then goes off. But the other day I was in a tight situation, when I stepped on the accelerator hard, a car pulled in front of me I immoderately stepped on the brake, and northing was there, it wet all the way down to the floor then after a second or two it started jumping as the anti lock brakes started to work, this was a close one I couldn't of slide my wallet between my truck and the car that pulled out in front of me. This truck also has the worse ride on concrete freeway paving. It bounces in a un stable, most irritating way, on asphalt freeway it is very smooth, until you hit a bump and it shimmy's in a un safe felling like it could loose control, I am happy with the power of the motor when its got a full load going up hill. With that exception this is the worst over priced truck I've ever owned, ill never buy Dodge again.

The contact owned a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving 45 mph, the check engine light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the particulate filter was causing the failure. The technician cleaned the filter; however, the check engine light illuminated again a few weeks later. He took the vehicle to the dealer a second time for a computer upgrade that would clear all the codes in the vehicle. The engine light illuminated for the third time and the dealer stated that the vehicle was under a recall, in which they repaired the vehicle for free. The engine light illuminated for the fourth time a month later and the vehicle was returned to the dealer. They performed a second computer upgrade and also replaced the turbo. The engine light illuminated for the fifth time and the dealer replaced a valve and upgraded the vehicle again. At that time, the contact began researching the lemon law. The check engine light illuminated for the sixth and seventh time a month later. After the eighth failure, the dealer offered the contact a new vehicle. The contact now owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. Within the first month of driving the vehicle, the check engine light illuminated. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they performed a computer upgrade. Two weeks prior to the upgrade, the check engine light illuminated again. The engine light illuminated for the third time two weeks after the upgrade. The vehicle is currently at the dealer. All the repairs were performed under warranty. The failure mileage was 500 and current mileage was 1,906.

03 Dodge Ram, 2500 quad cab, 5.7 hemi engine, auto transmission. Truck had done this since new in December of 2002, 6 to 10 times. Engine would start to shake, shaking the entire truck mostly at start up and/or at idle. Would shut key off and restart would be fine. Driving back from indianapolis 4/11/07 truck started shaking violently. Drove for less than a minute, pulled off to the side of road and truck died, would not restart. Towed to a rochester Indiana Dodge dealer. This was what the rochester dealership told me over 3 weeks. Spark packs were corroded and split replaced. Compression low in cylinder 5 and no compression in cylinder 8. found broken valve springs in cylinders 5 and 8. note: Many truck forum web sites noted that Dodge was aware of this in many early 03 models. In hind site it, explains a lot. Lot of carbon in the throttle body. Catalytic converter replaced, replaced PCM, replaced heads, replaced intake manifold. Picked truck up on 5/2/07. The dealer said truck running a little rough because of the additive added to the gas to clean carbon. Said to be sure to fill the tank, this was done. Driving back home to Michigan truck ran very rough. No engine light was on. Taken truck to dealer where purchased. Service manager said sounded as if it had a miss, asked if engine light was on, I answered no. He took it for a test drive and said that engine light came on before he got it out of the building. My Dodge dealer told me cylinder #7 is dead. Will have to remove the head to see what is going on. My dealer said that the rochester dealership had forgotten to the rocker arms over the push rods. Got the truck back and it seemed to be ok. After driving for about a week and feeling uneasy about it, I traded. The saving grace to all of this was just the fact I had bought the extended warranty and it was covered.
