Ram 2500 Sport 539L Cummins

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

I was driving down a paved rural road with my 3 horse bumper pull trailer attached to the truck. It felt like my truck was teetering between the two front tires and it was so bad that my horse that was in the trailer fell down on the floor. He was scared to death as he could not get up until I assisted him. I took my truck to my mechanic and he found that the tie rods, ball joints, steering stabilizer and lower control arm had to be replaced. This repair cost me $2500. I will also have to have the front end aligned when I get the truck back. This had happened previously but the vibration was not as bad as this incident.

MY DODGE 2500 HAS SO MANY RECALLS THAT I CANT KEEP UP WITH THE EXACT DATE EVERYTHING HAPPENED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE PULLING A 17 FOOT TRAILER AND A TRACTOR AND A BUSHING AND AS SOON AS I I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE TIE ROD BROKE AND WAS LAYING ON THE GROUND.

I COULD HAVE EASILY KILLED SOMEONE AND MYSELF. I COMPLAINED SO MUCH ABOUT MY DODGE FRONT END THAT THE DODGE DELAER HATED TO SEE ME COMING. THEREFORE WHEN A RECALL CAME IN, THEY NEVER CHANGED THE RECALL ON THE TIE ROD. LOOK UP DODGE RAM 2500 HD 4X4 6.7 MOTOR AND YOU WILL SEE 10 PRINTED PAGES OF RECALLS.

THIS VEHICLE WILL GET YOU AND OTHERS KILLED. THE FRONT END WAS CHANGED BUT THE TIE ROD WAS NEVER CHANGED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL. NOW I HAVE AN AIR BAG THAT WILL THROW METAL FRAGMENTS WHEN THE AIR BAG ACCIDENTALLY COMES OUT AND WILL KILL THE DRIVER AND THE PERSON IN PASSENGER SEAT.

Dodge has termed this the "Death Wobble"... It is just that.. it scares the death out of me and if my wife was to drive my truck it would be literal... she would not be able to keep from wrecking it.. I race cars and can barely maintain when it happens to me... it still bounces the truck into on coming traffic lane or median with no control over steering... until a very slow speed is obtained no control is possible... breaking hard to get contact with the road... If it would happen in a turn a wreck would be unavoidable...

A recall notice was sent out to us about the left Tie Rod needing to be replaced, we took it again to Thomas Dodge in St. Clairsville Ohio and according to the Service Director they can only replace 1 tie rod per customer per week, what kind of Crap is that? They are full of it if you ask me. I said what happens if it breaks? They said to be careful.

I have 25 people ahead of me and I should be able to get it repaired by July. What kind of customer service is this? The Service manager stated that Chrysler/Dodge requires only 1 customer per week for replacement, I think they are full of Crap!

I really like this truck, rides a little rough due to the HD springs on the back but overall it's a great truck. I just need them to fix the problem or give me the part and I'll fix it myself.

Ram 2500 Longhorn 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

Left tie rod snapped while driving, I lived because I was driving slow at the time but had to get towed. After it happened and I paid for the repair, I received a recall from Chrysler.

Additional problems Replaced all axle seals.... Twice now Replaced transmission Replaced Transfer case Replaced front end because of death wobble Replaced water pump Replaced AC compressor Replaced turbo charger Replaced all u-joints Replaced all ball joints Heater motor quit Wiring for both back door power windows broke Gave up trying to clear the check engine light after the 15th visit to the dealer.

There's a pile more issues I can't even keep track of. I'm very close to $30,000 in repairs and towing costs. I imported the truck to Canada from the U.S in 2007. It had 1900 miles on it when I bought it. Because it was imported Chrysler didn't honor any warranty at all. I can't believe that a manufacturer could build such a pile of crap in modern times. I will never buy another Chrysler product and I let everyone I meet know exactly what I went through so they don't either.
