Ram 2500 XLT 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,405 miles

over 10 times in 3 different shops. dealership 8 times no resolution just a bandaid and cash out.finally dealership refused to fix under warranty pointing the finger at me. 1st it was no warranty work because the truck was modified ( a lift kit) but when i told them THEY lifted it and sold it to me, 2nd was i ignored the j35 recall ( which i didnt). then when i told them it was impossible to register it w/dmv until recall was taken care of, they said dont worry we just did the j35 recall( again). they claimed the smog shop 'mustve done me a favor'. now they claim it cant be warranted because of lack of proper maintenance by customer. so she sits in the drive with a diagnostics of'possible bad engine'. wont start. Last start had black smoke, prob a head gasket. start before that , white smoke w/ water/coolant pouring out the exhaust. left me stranded at 7000ft ele. in a snow storm w/ no heater. took 8 hrs. before help came along. shut truck off in town, left me stranded w/ no start. tow. 8 tows total and she sits now w/ 27,901 mi. Finance co. dont want it back. rather take me to court for balance due. ITS A LEMON! WHY WONT DODGE TAKE RESPONSABILITY!!

problem #1

Ram 2500 Laramie 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

Bought new 2008 Dodge 2500 6.7 . The truck now has less than 50.000 miles and the check engine light is on again for the sixth time for EGR valve. The EGR valve has been cleaned or replace 6 times now and counting. The fuel mileage drops by 6 or 7 miles per gallon until I spend half a day at the dealer for them to work on the EGR again. The time between having the EGR worked on is getting shorter, the last time just over 1,000 miles. The service manager tell me he does not know of this problem with other trucks, but they can't fix mine. I fine this very hard to believe. This has to be a problem for others too and they don't have a fix. I like the truck and this is not my first dodge product (2 vans, 3 trucks, 1 jeep), but could be my last if I have to keep taking this one in for the same problem every 1,000 so miles. After reading other complaints of the same problem on line, I know it is not just my truck. Dodge has to step up if they are to keep me and others as customers.
