I bought this truck with 93,000 miles on it. At about 100,000 I started noticing the shaking of the front end after hitting any raised area on the highway and it is getting worse as time goes on. I now have 126,000+ on the vehicle and if you hit a raised spot or dip on the highway going 60+ mph it goes into the so called death wobble. If going over 60 mph in a turn the truck will sometimes leave the lane of travel and as others have said shake violently until you reduce speed significantly. This has become very dangerous to myself and anyone on the highway near me. So far I have been lucky when this occurred and to date have not had an accident. I have done a lot of research on this issue and no one seems to know what the cause is or how to fix it. I cannot afford to spent thousands for everyone to chase this problem. I have added a steering box stabilizer which improved nothing as far as I can tell. I plan to add a better steering stabilizer asap. There should be a recall on this and Dodge needs to put forth more effort to find the cause. This has been going on long enough and is putting the public in danger. This is my daily driver and work truck. I have owned many Dodge 4x4 trucks and have never had this problem before. I have owned a 78 Ramcharger, 79 Powerwagon, 84 W150, 87 W150, 91 2500 Cummins 4x4, 2001 Cummins 3500 4x4 and now the 08 2500 Cummins 4x4. So I have always been loyal to Dodge and now they need to be loyal to their customers before people start dying. If the NHTSA needs to step in on this issue now is the time.

I just really wish Dodge would stand behind their vehicles. I have been too afraid to drive it on the freeway. When it starts the death wobble, all you can do is hang on and slow down slowly. I contacted the Dodge corporation several times .. They offered no help and claimed they had no idea what I was talking about when it came to the death wobble .. Well anyways, my thoughts are Dodge should be held accountable ..

Called Dodge Chrysler, no recalls on this problem but I did read they are aware of this issue and have in the past offered rebuy

Not my first experience with the death wobble, but none the less very scary to say the least. I feel like my very expensive heavy duty diesel truck shouldn't have the same problems as the $2500 beater Jeep I have. So far I've added a steering box support, dual steering dampeners, and replaced several bushings & tie rod ends with no solution.

Took truck to a Dodge dealership because there was some cards sent out about the recall. They looked at it and it got worse after they looked at it. It has happened at least once every time I drive the truck and it does the "death wobble" with any little bump in the road. I've had it happen to me on the highways at 75 MPH and had to slow down drastically. I fear for not just my health/life but my family members that also drive it. This is a truck that is used as a daily driver.

I nearly died while on the highway when my truck went over a minimal bump in the road...luckily I was on dry pavement and relatively alone. If the death wobble had happened on a bridge or on a portion of the highway that had cement embankments instead of grass, I would have crashed.
I have had all the recalls done on the truck such as tie rods and steering issues. Nothing fixes this problem. I am glad to have read what has not worked for others so I do not waste more money on trying to remedy the death wobble.
I put brand new tires on the truck and have had it on the hoist numerous times looking for a cause of the death wobble.
This needs to be recalled before someone dies or maybe that is what Chrysler is waiting for; death and lawsuits first, recalls later?
If anyone knows where to start a class action lawsuit please let me know. I want in!
