Last winter 3 exhaust manifold studs broke off inside the cylinder head on the passenger side. I have lifetime powertrain warranty so I took it to the dealer. They had to unbolt and jack up the motor to replace the broken studs. Without the warranty cost would have been roughly $4000.

Fast forward to August 2014. I found broken studs on the driver side this time. Why didn't they replace all of them at once? Dumb if you ask me. This time they couldn't get the studs out so they had to remove the cylinder head and send it to a machine shop for extraction. The threads for the studs are 3/16" from the water jacket so if they slipped while drilling them out I'd be waiting on a new head. As of today my truck has been in the shop for 5 days. That's 5 days lost wages because they were too lazy to replace all of the studs the first time.

Thanks Dodge.
