headlights too dim at night, upgraded bulbs and no change
I had problems with the intensity of the headlights from the start. On dark wet roads they were virtually useless. I talked to the dealer and they had no solution but were sympathetic. I replace the stock bulbs with Sylvania bulbs and no improvement. I finally bit the bullet and purchase a set of PIIA auxillary lighting which solved the problem. I do a lot of night driving and the truck was dangerous in stock form. My son in law just purchases a 2011 Ram 1500 and is already complaining about the headlights. It seems to me that Ram should come up with a solution (replacement design) headlights before people start getting killed. Everyone that has ridden in my truck asks "do you have your headlights on" until I turn on the PIIA,s
I have zero other complaints about this truck and have had 2 Rams before with adequate headlights.
Just a poor prism design. The bulbs are set way back in the bezels and get no reflection down the road. There is already a guy in Montana that will take your headlights and rebuild them with the bulbs out further in front and uses hid components. Ram needs to come up with a solution before the class action suit starts.
