This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
The seal around the cargo light failed and leaked water down the post of the cab and into the cargo departments under the rear seat (crew cab). The foul smell revealed the problem and I discovered 3" of standing water in each compartment.
The fix was a total tear apart and cleaning of the carpet in the truck and the replacement of the seal around the cargo light on the rear of the cab. Frustrating failure for a truck under 2 years old, but I'm glad that it was covered under the warranty.

This was the second time the seal failed on this cargo light. Thankfully, I caught the leak by the smell before it had damaged the carpet too greatly.
However, I was told that even though I purchased the "bumper to bumper" extended warranty to 100,000 miles, it didn't cover seals or gaskets. I complained enough that the shop covered it anyway. But, that's ridiculous, particularly because it's the second time that this particular seal failed in a truck less than 5 years old.
