Since I have owned the truck which I purchased in Aug 08, I have had several dealings with getting it fixed. Seems there was always something wrong and tons of money would go out the door!
When I bought the truck, I noticed that sometimes the blower fan would just come on by itself or turn off by itself. I took it to the local dealer (Lithia Dodge) and they told me that I had nothing to worry about, that the system is just releasing built up pressure in the system. So, I didn't worry about it until now! It is cold....-50 windchill and I have no means of defrosting my windows. I called another repair place and they called me to tell me that the wiring harness connected to the ignition switch was melted. They ordered a new ignition switch and had to rewire the column. I have seen many people with this same condition and if your truck or car is new enough, take it in now and get it fixed! Who knows what would have happen? It could have burned the truck down to the ground...and frankly, that thought just doesn't seem all that bad now!

Just heard the weather report and they are saying wind chill factor of -50 and my heater motor won't run. Has been a problem on and off for a while, but now doesn't come on at all. Sometimes in the past, I would get out of the truck and the fan would run on it's own. I don't know what the problem is...
Update from Sep 16, 2009: I ended up taking the truck to an auto electric specialist and they rewired my whole steering column. The coupler down at the bottom melted and caught the bottom of the dash on fire. Good thing it went out...or maybe by now I wish it had taken the whole truck into flames! Very tired of this problematic truck!!!
