Ram 3500 Megacab 5.9L Ctd

  • Manual transmission
  • 60,000 miles

No sooner than I install aftermarket blend doors from JGC parts for my wife's '01 Grand Cherokee which would only blow cold air, (Which I installed through the glove box by cutting open the housing and not removing the dash) my '06 Ram developed a vibration, a louder than normal blower sound and had little air out the vents.

Thanks to the posts here, and about $.02 worth of duct tape I found the fresh air door had broken and fallen down blocking the inlet opening to the blower. I too was able to tape the fresh air damper into the recirculation position restoring proper air flow and noise levels.

Like the previous post, if I need fresh air I crack the sunroof. Much more effective than the high dollar dealer repair. Not to mention the last vehicle I owned where the dealer had to remove the dash, I was never able to get all of the rattles to stop after that.

When turning on air on the high setting truck would vibrate inside almost like an etcher. Take to dealer they tell me, the vents that direct the airflow to defrost or to come out the front vents are broken. They have to remove the whole dash to repair damaged direction control vents. Haven't had any other problems with that, yet!
