Truck has 72000 miles on it. Has hardly ever pulled a trailer really been pampered. The pressure plate went out going down the road at 20 mph. Causing a vibration at about 1500 rpm, the vibration was so bad it broke the adapter plate between the motor and transmission on the left side and the bell housing on the transmission. I have heard of the clutch and pressure plate going out prematurely so I have replaced it with a southbend clutch and pressure plate as well as the hydrolics.I replaced the adapter plate and the transmission with oem.
I have also have had other problems with it passenger mirror fell off of it with 32000 miles and the radio sometimes wont work just wont turn on, and the speed sensor in the rear end went bad with 67000 miles on it, the pinion seal went bad in the front ene with 39000 miles on it and the rear main seal in the engine went out of it with 67000 miles on it.
Dodge wonders why the are going under its because their vehicles are poorly made. I have 1999 dodge 3500 that has had the s**t pulled out of it with 189000 on it (with no leaks and the radio plays everytime. Anymore when I need a truck to drive I get in the old one. I hate to say it but the next one I buy wont be a dodge, it will probably be a TOYOTA with a CAT in it (thats just hopeful thinking).Dodge better tighten it up if they plan on staying in business any longer!
