The contact mentioned that two weeks before the failure occurred, the vehicle had been inspected under recall NHTSA campaign number: 13V528000 (steering) and the technician stated that the vehicle was not affected by the problem. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who verified the failure and replaced the tie rod. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 130,000 and the current mileage was 132,000.
