Truck TIPM module went bad. Driving 60mph on a dual lane highway lost power steering, the truck went into idle mode, would not accelerate to enable me to get off the road, horn going off windshield wipers turning on. wiper fluid squirting on windshield. I got the truck to the side of the road. It would not turn off. Smoke coming out of the fuse box. Had to disconnect both batteries to get the engine to stop. the whole time doing this the smoke was intensifying and I was afraid it was going to catch fire. I had it towed to the Dodge dealer. They said it was a bad TIPM module. The new one came in and they said it was bad also. A second new one was ordered and it coded bad. Now they say it is probably associated wiring. I have been without my truck over two weeks. They said hopefully it would be ready in a few days. This is the 3rd truck I've bought from Dodge and the service continues to slide down hill. There was a lawsuit a few years ago on these TIPM modules but the claim was denied for my model truck. I almost killed myself, my wife and dog, pulling off the road and then had to worry about fire as I disconnected power.

Tired of replacing fuse boxes (tipm). This is second one in a year. Found a used one for 400+ dollars. New one is over $1300.00. Dodge need to recall this problem before it gets someone killed.
