at 77,000 miles a was the proud owner of a broken engine rod. How the hell does this happen at only 77,000 miles. Regular oil changes (done by husband) although the car completely ATE oil since I've owned it but never had a leak. I bought it used 2 years ago - had 35,000 miles on it. I KNOW this is a manufacturer defect - but will never be able to prove the oil changes because they were not done at a shop - cheaper for hubby to do it. It broke down Friday on a busy interstate. Had it towed to a shop and they are telling me it's going to cost approx. $7,000 to fix it. Of course the car is 7,000 miles out of warranty and I can't afford to have it fixed. I'm going to have no choice but to surrender it to the bank. I've looked up complaints for chrysler/dodge and they are the shaddiest sh*ts I've ever heard of. Will not help, will blame it on the owner, they even have their mechanics do patch jobs on cars that are in warranty to hopefully get the car out of warranty so that when it occurs again they don't have to cover it. I'm so pissed that a company like this can continue to manufacturer cars. It's a crime.

Water pump leaking and had it replaced. Upon receiving the car back the engine was very noisy, running like a diesel engine noise and loud knocking engine noise. Mechanic says now that timing belt guide is broken and there is a 4 month (!!!) wait from Dodge for a new part. He is getting a non-mfg part and it will take 3 hours to install new part. Great--it's December 21st, this is my only car, I have Christmas presents and food to buy, relatives flying into town tomorrow night and lots of other stuff to do before Christmas. This is the last American car I will EVER buy. I'm trading this one in after the holidays and getting another Toyota Camry like I should have done in the first place. Three years ago a drunk driver hit me, totaled me and my Camry, I had memory loss issues and bought a Dodge. Big mistake!!!!!
