I had Toyota Scion for 10 years and the clutch never went. To be totally honest, I don't know what is making the noise, I can only assume it is the clutch. There is a clicking sound when the clutch is engaged. This may be related but also, the car squeals when I back up and feather the clutch (half press to control my speed). This noise started when I bought the car but because it wasn't consistent and I don't often back up, I didn't worry about it. I told the service but they never heard it so it got swept under the rug. In any event, something is up with the clutch on this car. Between the squealing and the clicking, it is annoying.
