The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while parked and opening the liftgate on the trunk of the vehicle, the ball that held the driver's side rear liftgate detached. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear driver's side liftgate and the glass on the windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.
