[XXX] Vehicle would not start(not even crank) while parked in the garage. Could not jump start, had to be dragged out of garage(could not put in neutral) and hauled on rollback to Blaise Alexander Ford Lewisburg, Pa. Dealership kept for 4 days and charged battery and could not replicate the problem. [XXX] Vehicle while driving message of Vehicle Connection Error came up on screen and then all gauges blacked out, turned off of road and died, could not restart, could not jump start and would not crank. Again had to be drug onto rollback (could not put in neutral) and towed to Blaise Alexander Ford Lewisburg, pa, kept for 6 days and tested battery, could not charge it and replaced it at our cost. Vehicle was at 35,098miles. They could not replicate the problem. Do not feel safe driving this vehicle if it shuts down randomly at times. Low coolant and smell of something hiring while driving on highway states away from home visiting family. Pulled over and no coolant in reservoir. No warning lights on dash either. Was determined by Ford Dealership on 11/27/2023 that my water pump was failing, couldn't tell me why no low coolant light came on dash. Water pump was replaced 01/02/2024 under warranty.

No dashboard activation upon entering the vehicle this morning nor would the vehicle start. After a dozen attempts to start the vehicle with no response whatsoever, the vehicle finally started (green start button blinked, but no dashboard activity on any screen). Promptly attempted to put the vehicle in reverse but it immediately died. Would not start again. Online troubleshooting led us to detach/reattach the negative battery cable, which seemed to resolve the issue. No apparent battery or cable issues upon user inspection. Drove the vehicle yesterday without issue or warning to indicate an issue might arise. Have not had this issue previously.

Slowing down at a red light, getting into a left hand turning lane there was a "thud" sound and then the car completely shut off. Nothing worked, screens went blank, no hazards, no lights. We were stuck in the middle of the road with no way to even get the car out of the way. Every once in a while the green would come on or an alarm would go off but quickly went back to black. Tow truck was able to jump it to get it on the truck but half way through the ride the engine died once more. There was no warning at all. If this would have happened on the highway, it would have been catastrophic. After learning about this happening to others and hearing that it may happen again, I will not feel safe in this car moving forward: car is a 2021 Bronco Sport, 52,000 miles. Please do something!!!

Vehicle experienced catastrophic power failure while I was driving. Without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. The engine stopped, the brakes engaged, the dash went black. There was no way to communicate with the vehicle -- no way to engage emergency flashers or even to push it to the side of the road (because the brakes were locked). There was a loud "pulse" sound coming through the speakers -- "thump...thump...thump..." which continued for 5 - 10 minutes. A police officer who stopped to assist noted the rear tail lights were strobing. The "P" on the transmission shifter flashed continually. Over the next 30 minutes, the infotainment screen rebooted twice, but went to black within seconds. The instrument panel rebooted once, but also went black after a few seconds. The car was towed to Kings Ford in Mason/Deerfield Township OH. The service tech reported the only issue was a dead battery which he replaced. That issue has not reoccurred in my Bronco Sport. On the Bronco Sport Forum, [XXX] reported an identical event in Feb. 2023 happened to her vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was on my way to work and as I approached a 4-way intersection, the auto-stop feature on the vehicle shut the engine off. The vehicle's instrument panel started blinking then went completely black. The vehicle became completely disabled... the hazard lights were only functioning intermittently. I tried to re-start the vehicle without success and was not able to shift to neutral. The vehicle was in the middle of the road, so I called a tow to carry it to the dealership. The dealership was able to replicate the issue and blamed it on a 'dead-cell' battery. The dealership even said that the vehicle did the same thing to them once their booster pack was removed, so a simple jump from another vehicle would not have temporarily solved the issue. Before the incident, the vehicle gave absolutely NO warning or indication that the battery levels were low. I cannot believe that with all of the modern vehicle technology available, Ford did not develop a 'low-battery' warning light for their vehicles. I expect Ford to pay for every tow needed in the future due to a dead battery that completely disables the vehicle in the middle of the street.

While driving today, this car abruptly stopped in the middle of the road. it would not restart and it was puttering over and over and popping for no reason it was resulted in me being stranded in the middle of a busy arterial for three hours. I called roadside assistance to jumpstart the vehicle and within three minutes it did the same thing is shut down at the corner. I was able to get into a parking lot and assess the issue and I actually had them jumpstart once again. I sat for 15 minutes and drove to an auto shop. They stated that there was no issue with the starter battery or alternator. However, there was a PCM code that popped up, which was related to the computer system of the vehicle. This was a very scary occurrence and I cannot believe that Car just randomly stops in the middle of the road while driving. My brother who owns his car drives over the highway every other day between two cities and I cannot imagine what will happen if they shut down on the highway.

My 2021 Bronco failed our family on Friday. The Bronco failed to start upon pressing the start and brake pedal. The main console panel started flashing then cycling through all kinds of failure alerts. There was a series loud noises from the engine, the headlights flashed off and on for over 3 minutes and then the engine started smoking. The doors would not open and we were stuck inside while the engine was smoking. That smoke came through the air vents as well. Finally, I was able to get my door open though couldn-??t open my son-??s rear passenger side door from the outside. He was stuck inside for what seemed like forever. He was able to open it finally and I carried him inside. My son-??s legs are paralyzed and he does not walk. My main concern was getting him to a safe place as I was scared to death that the engine was going to explode in that moment. The engine smoke started to ease up however the electrical burning smell was overwhelming. This all took place in my garage. The trunk would not unlock and my key fob would not engage with the vehicle at all during this time. The trunk hatch lock finally disengaged and I was finally able to get his wheelchair out. Everything failed. I could not get the Bronco into neutral at any point. The Bronco is currently at my local Ford dealer where I was told I have to wait a week before it can even be looked at. I was told "it's just the battery...." There is NO way my experience was "just the battery." As of 10/10/2023 no one from corporate or the dealer has reached out to me. Once I got to the dealer (Jarret Gordon Ford Davenport), they were so dismissive of me. The service advisor never even asked if my son or myself were OK.

Bought 2021 bronco sport in Dec 21. Since my engine has stuttered and started to die. The panel starts falling as if it is sitting off. This is not the auto engine shut off while idling at a light issue. Upon starting the engine you can hear a ticking and on every certain revelation the vehicle will sputter and start to cut off. It has died on 2 occasions in my driveway, but not yet on the road. It will stutter and start to die almost always in idle, especially in park, but it will do it and stay losing power mainly while driving low speeds or when not pressing gas pedal. I received recall and was told part was not available and didn't know when it would be available and have never been told part was available, but miraculously my recall order was closed without parts ever being replaced. This is like mist of the 8 recalls on this vehicle. 6 recalls where made before the vehicle came off of the train car. 6 recalls were still active the night I drove off the lot AFTER SERVICE WAS CLOSED. My first service was flat spots in my tires from sitting in a train car in Florida heat for 3 months, no parts were replaced, feb and March of last year the recall was closed before my car was in the shop... My dealership is clearing recalls and not reels my vehicle. They are taking advantage of my mental disabilities.

When trying to start the vehicle, it would not crank. Instead, all dash indicator lights, interior lights, and exterior lights began flashing. Numerous random error messages began flashing on the dashboard screen. Then a large plume of smoke began coming out from under the hood and there was an acrid burning smell. No flames were visible so the fire department would not respond when called and advised to have it towed. After much difficulty loading onto a tow truck (the parking brake would not disengage--dash indicated a parking brake fault as one of the many errors--so it had to be dragged onto the flatbed tow truck) the vehicle was towed to the local dealership in Dothan, AL. Per the dealership, there was an underhood fire involving the starter and battery. We are unable to inspect the damaged components. They stated they are unable to remedy the smoke smell that has permeated the vehicle despite the disabling lung conditions of one of our family members. We have tried numerous times over the last 9 months to get the dealership to perform service required by NHTSA Recall # 22V859, but they keep stating the parts are unavailable. They will not say whether this underhood fire is directly related to the recall already in effect.

2021 Bronco Sport 40k- During the drive home while sitting at an intersection while in eco mode, the car lost all power. No dash, hazard lights, etc. After stepping out of the vehicle for about 15 minutes, I tried again, and still no power. Contacted a tow company for assistance and had the car towed to the closest Ford dealer. The dealer was unable to replicate the problem but did state there was a recall on the fuel system. Time for this car to be traded since I can't rely on it to keep me safe.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while at a stop light, the vehicle shut off with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The message "Service Collision Assist" and "System Powering Down" were displayed. After the engine cooled down, the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to find a cause for the failure. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. On another occasion while driving 15 MPH and slowing down, the vehicle lost motive power with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact attempted several times to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle would not restart. The contact was able to push the vehicle off the roadway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

I currently am at 14,000 miles on my2021 Bronco Sport. I have had no issues prior to what happened to me on August 9th. While I was at a light my car went completely black with no warning and I was not able to put on hazard lights or put it in neutral to get off the busy highway. I had to call 911 as cars were zipping up close to mine and I was only able to wave my arms to get them to see my car was unoccupied. I was screamed at, honked at all while frantic trying to explain to the 911 operator that I needed a deputy to come and put his lights on behind my car to prevent an accident. My car sat in the middle of the highway with no warning lights on until a tow truck arrived. We then found out there is a way to release the gear and put it into neutral so we could push it to the side of the road. The car was towed to the house where I then had to have another tow truck come get it and tow it to the dealership where i was already waiting for a part. (Differential) At this point it has now been 8 days and i have no updates on what actually happened to my car but in my discovery I have read that this is a more common occurrence than not. Just while waiting in the Enterprise waiting room, waiting for my rental I met a girl with the same exact issue. How many others is this happening to and when will Ford recall this model car before someone is killed? I want answers and want to make sure when they say my car is fixed that it truly is fixed. I am scared to death to drive it now that I even have purchased road flares so I am ready for the next break down, because I truly believe it will happen again.

On 2 occasions, 7/30/23 and 8/13/23, my 2021 Bronco suddenly stopped working with no warning whatsoever. I had no way to put on any Emergency Flashers because there was no power. The same day as the first incident, the car was brought to my local Ford Dealer and they couldn't find any problem. When they inspected it the next morning, it started right up.I had been driving the car for 2 weeks and it happened while I was driving again on 8/13/23. It died the exact same way, with no warning and no way for me to alert other drivers around me. My vehicle is currently at the Ford Service Department and they are trying to find the problem.

On Monday 7-24-2023 5:00pm rush hour in Downtown Gainesville Fl at a red light in the left lane about to turn left my car completely shutoff with no warning. It was if someone disconnected the battery completely from the car. No lights, No screen, No ignition. The traffic light turned green and I immediately pressed my foot on the brake and tried to start the engine. I noticed there were not lights, no sounds and no reaction from the engine. Windows would not go down either. I tried too put the hazards on to signal people and they had no power. The car was completely dead in the road. I jumped out of the drivers seat to warn people to go around me but traffic was whipping around me so I started to panic. I got back in the drivers seat to try and restart the car a few more times. I pressed the ignition and noticed the dash board and welcome screen flashing on and off repeatedly without success. I wanted to put the car in neutral. but the shiffter was stuck I drive and the emergency electric brake was engaged. After about 30 minutes the police came to direct traffic and he stayed with us for almost 2 hours while we waited for a tow truck. In the mean time we tried jumping the battery and for a split second the car lights on the inside all came on. Every light in the car lit up for a split second and then it totally died again. The wheels were locked so it had to be dragged onto a flat bed truck and taken to Parks Ford Gainesville. The next day I were told by [XXX], a service technician at Parks Ford that he could not locate the issue but he called it a Catastrophic Fail and he had to call in a Master technician to look at my car and that would be the end of this week or beginning of next. This is a very dangerous thing. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle completely quit in heavy traffic. There were no warning signs, nothing, just completely dead. I had no option to put on hazard lights etc. Had this happened on the interstate, it would have been incredibly dangerous. It was still unsettling traveling home with others which included an 11 year-old. The police helped us get it started with a jump-box but on the way home it started to bonk out again which included a message regarding the system shutting down. I got home where the vehicle started lighting up and then it was dead yet again. A major safety issue. The vehicle has only 32K miles on it - a 2021. Ridiculous.

I was driving down a city street in Sacramento and the car just suddenly stopped- engine and everything was off. I could not get the car to turn back on. Emergency lights would not come on, it was if the entire electrical system was out. I was in the middle of the road, so needed to put hazards on to warn others and I could not. Cops came to place flares to warn other drivers after 35 minutes. No warning codes or anything to let me know what was happening. Having car towed. 10 minutes before tow truck arrived, vehicle started, so I was able to move it to a safer place. But the car was inoperable for about an hour and a half.

This vehicle is just two years old and has 38,000 miles. Meticulously maintained from day one. It is equipped with the start/stop feature. On July 8, 2023 when stopping for traffic at a U-turn lane on a heavy traveled highway the engine shut off and the entire vehicle went dead, leaving the car unable to re-start or move. Since there is no fail safe means of taking the vehicle out of gear (automatic transmission) it could not be moved out of harms way. The Hazard flashers also would not work due to the electrical failure. Emergency vehicles arrived and saved us from a rear end collision by blocking the lane of travel. Vehicle has an extended service plan and was towed to the nearest Ford dealer where a system check was performed and revealed that the battery had failed. According to the service adviser this is a common occurrence with the Bronco Sport model and they have anticipated a safety recall which has yet to be issued. The replacement of the battery at my expense corrected the problem. I wish to point out the fact that the failure of the battery in this model vehicle creates a highly dangerous situation which could lead to injuries or death. I can see no reason for the failure of the battery since it gave no indications of being in a low charge state. It merely failed without warning. The vehicle is not equipped with analog gauges so the state of charge is in no way indicated without selecting an onboard computer AP. Again, this vehicle gave no indication of a problem before failing and leaving no means of getting it into neutral so that it could be safely removed from traffic.
