The contact's wife owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while his wife was driving and making a left or a right turn, the steering wheel locked inadvertently. The contact stated that while forcefully turning the steering wheel, the steering wheel made an abnormally loud grinding sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 23S09; however, the vehicle was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

The steering has developed a clicking/wind up noise while turning around 4000 miles. The vehicle is available for inspection. The vehicle was brought to the dealer twice. The noise was able to be heard, and seems to be an issue with a few bronco sports on their lot. The dealer noted -??operating normally-??

Passenger knee airbag did not deploy Drivers Steering column came off at base which is why there was no airbag deployed. Front driver and passenger sun visors came completely off and exposed wires and metal rods.

There is a repeating clicking noise (click, click, click-??) every time I turn the steering wheel. It only occurs when it-??s above 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Any problem related to the steering, or turning of the vehicle is a safety concern in my opinion. Ford forces the owner to make a service appointment to get the problem inspected (I could not just drive to a dealership). The earliest I could schedule an appointment at one of the three nearest dealerships to me is a week from the day I-??m writing this complaint. So I guess I can either keep driving the vehicle in the unsafe condition, or get a rental on my own dime. There are no warning lights or trouble codes related to the issue, and the vehicle only has 3,500 miles on it. I-??ve owned it for two months ?-??-?'?.
