Rear-view camera sporadically freezes, turns upside down - will see people walking behind, and then suddenly the image will freeze. This is a major major safety issue and I suspect people may even be killed due to this camera failure. I had numerous situations where the camera would (mid backup) FREEZE the image, resulting in the driver (myself) thinking that nobody was walking behind my vehicle! This needs to be investigated and perhaps the rear-view camera systems recalled on ALL Ford C-maxes as I am seeing many other reports of this happening as well

There is clearly an open recall on my car since June of 2022, I have yet to receive any information from Ford about checking my car to see if it-??s affected by this recall. I drive with my 3 year old in this car everyday and I would feel a lot safer if someone was able to look at my vehicle.

The inside door panels become loose. Doors affected are the driver's door and both rear passenger doors. When the panels come loose, it can make the doors impossible to open from the inside and outside door handles. Attempts have been made to correct this issue with new clips to attach the door panels with but the issue keeps happening. These door panels have been an issue since December 2017. It's a safety hazard if you have young children in the rear passenger seats who do not have the strength to push on the doors with either their feet or arms. In the case of an accident/fire they would be trapped.

I noticed the car hasn-??t honked upon locking it with the key fob for about the last 1,000 miles. Today is the first time I needed to use my horn to warn someone about pulling in front of me while I was also braking. I tried the next 3 miles to get the horn to honk and nothing happened. Once I got home & turned the car off, I could hear there was a clicking noise, but no horn honking sound was produced.

The vehicle was entered while parked and locked with the security system active. A panel was removed from the lower left side of the housing beneath the steering wheel. All four windows had been lowered to the maximum extent possible, apparently without breaking them. Debris was strewn across front and rear seats. Spare floor mats stored in the trunk/hatch area (normally out of view due to a cover over the hatch and the rear seat backs) were deposited on the rear seat. Consumer would like to withdrawal the complaint, stated consumer's fault.

Warning light with an engine and wrench appeared for 24 hours. Wrench disappeared and then the engine. Dealer insisted the car fixed it self and later claimed their tester show no problem. Dealer was using a generic tester which is not designed for high voltage battery system. 'hybrid/ev battery balancing circuit stuck' reflected on a personal newer model engine tester. This battery is warranted for 100,000 miles. Dealer not using the correct type of engine tester based on the type of battery.

The 2 back passenger doors do not function properly. They become stuck when closed and cannot be opened in a normal manner. The doors require great force to be opened because the inside door panel comes loose and causes the doors to not operate properly. The doors cannot be opened from the inside of the car and must be opened forcefully by an adult. The means that any child sitting in the back seat is unable to exit the car. This has happened on multiple occasions and happens randomly. This is was noted by Ford to be an issue with the 2013 C max but they refuse to acknowledge the problem with the 2014 C max making the 2014 a death trap. Repeated attempts to have a dealer fix the issue have failed.

The Ford C max comes with the sync system that controls all of the console systems (radio, backup camera, heat/cold, phone, navigation, and usb ports). In the vehicle, the sync system has quit working on multiple occasions while the vehicle is being operated on both city streets and highways. This causes a distraction, and effort by the driver to remedy. Additionally, the sync causes the backup camera to go in and out, thus causing a backup hazard. The issue has been brought to Ford's service center multiple times, and the vehicle has been in the Ford repair shop multiple times, at least four (4) and the issue has not been repaired. The last two times that have replaced major components to remedy the situation, but it has not.

After over a year of asking they keep saying they can't get the parts from Ford at the same time they admit they have received parts but they are not currently available and when I ask to be informed or put on a list they tell me they don't do that. They say I just have to take my chances when I have service or to call weekly or monthly. And now that I have asked about the recall repair more than once when I take the car in for its oil change it seems they have flagged our account and our treatment is very poor. I set an appointment for an oil change recently and asked if they could fix the recall and they said it was a low priority, that they don't provide a customer waiting list and they cancelled my appointment. When I called again they set it back a week after I mentioned that I was planning on going out of town. Their meanness simply means I will take our other Ford which they have successfully never completed one recall repair on that and the car got so old that they said they no longer have to do the repair but I can now pay for the old recall repairs. Thanks penske Ford who use to be drew Ford in la mesa California

The contact owned a 2014 Ford C-max. While the vehicle was parked, the contact observed smoke emitting from the vehicle and flames on the front driver's side. The point of origin of the fire was undetermined. The fire department extinguished the fire. The fire report was inconclusive. The contact was unsure of whether a police report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed and the insurance company deemed the vehicle destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,500.

I am appalled at how Ford has taken care of the recall issue 16S30, according to the letter I received the part for this recall will not be available until 2017 second quarter" first of all this is unacceptable, considering this is no fault of mine. What really upsets me is when I tried to open the hatch to load my groceries, it wouldn't open, so I loaded them in my backseat. Well when I pulled out, the hatch opened! what concerns me is what if that would have been my door and my child fell out" I called the dealership as well as Ford motor and nothing has been resolved! very poor service from Ford

I received a letter informing me of the recall on the door latch, however parts will not be available until possibly the 2nd quarter 2017. Considering my latch on the back opens sometimes, I am certainly concerned for my doors opening with my kids. Having to wait is unacceptable. I should have been provided a loaner car until mine is fixed. I am very10 dissatisfied with Ford Motor Company.
