Crown Victoria CA Police 4.6L

I parked the car and went in to my place of work. At least 20 minutes later, I was advised that my car was on fire. I ran out to discover that then grill and wheelwells were spouting flames. I called 911 and then rescued 2 significant items from the vehicle. As things in the burning engine compartment popped and banged. The fire gutted the car, and was burning through the back seat into the trunk (gas tank!) area when it was extinguished by our brave firefighters. (I hid inside the building!)

There were absolutely no recent repairs on the car that would have caused any damage to fuel lines or wiring. The police officer that asked me details about the car noted that the hood had burned away. It was aluminum and fiberglass. He mentioned it was probably either a California thing, or a Police Package item. The car was indeed purchased 3 years prior from a police auction. I'm not sure how much better off the car would have been if the hood didn't actually catch fire and melt, but I think it should be noted as a possible cause for the fire, or catalyst to its rapid spread.

Broken plastic intake manifold... 6 month fix by patching with QuickSteel(R)

Passenger window wouldn't roll down (you could hear the motor tho)

Rear Passenger door wouldn't close. Acted like the lock finger was closed, but it wasn't. I kicked it so hard it was permanently closed. Fix it later eh?

I won't buy a Ford ever again. Unreasonable failures!
