2004 police crown Vic I was driving down the road. In the city on my way home and the
Headlights just cut off and then they would cut back about 5 mins later.
And my brake lights were out too. I took it to the shop and they said it was the headlight control
Module. It was 500$ for the part itself and another 200 bucks for labor.
That was the problem on my car, I never heard of a problem like this and it sucked

This is a very common problem on 03-04 Grand Marquis and Crown Victorias. I must replace the Lighting Control Module with a new or different one.

the lights go out when driving, this car has been a royal pain in the ass since day one.when i bought the car as a NEW DEMO the car was in an accident while owned by THE LOMAN FORD PARSIPPANY N.J.there was over $10,000 in damages and i was not told of the severity of the damage.they told me because it is a demo it had some scratches and a few dings that they repaired at THEIR BODY SHOP they don't have a body shop.i called KIMMEL AND SILVERMAN lawyer's for the lemon law people.they left me with a bad taste in my mouth because they were worried about their money's and not what i went through.the loman dealership post phoned the case 6 times in 19 mos.this was my only car so i was told to use it.well the rear wheel adjustment was out 67 degrees and there was no tolerance or adjustment on a FIXED OR STATIONERY REAR there is no adjustment i went through 14 rear tires in under 3 years.when i finally got to a meadiator on the case he said his ruling is final we went through the procedure and he said because of the miles on the car i had ample use of it and they gave me $5000.00 and said i can keep the car.BIG FREEKIN DEAL.FORD KNEW THE FRAME WAS BENT AND POST PHONED THE CASE SO I WOULD GO OVER MY Warranty COVERAGE AND I GOT SCREWED

after lots of bullshit testing, it was the lcm, whenever the lights go out i just bang on the unit under the dash. it usually stays on till restart. but to fix it u pull it out of its little(cage) and a couple screws, then open it up, it will be one of the little black sealed boxes on the circuit board. all 3 are grouped together, there are little contacts inside of them, u can de-soldier the black boxes off the board or use a hot wire or knive or a dremel real carefully and get that basterd apart. clean the contacts and good to go.. or just find another LCM unit and plug/unplug and change it..
